Just left Heavnly Wings about 10 mins ago on August 7th, 2018. I walked in and was greeted by a man who never wanted to give me his name. I would say he's the owner since other reviews talk about him in the exact manner that my trip produced. He was a bigger set man, most notably with spaced teeth (not that that's a bad thing at all, i'm just using it as a description). He took our order and was halfway friendly, i figured he was a little less cordial than most, but you always see that in service so I thought nothing of it. We made our order which rang out to $60.08. I bought a 8pc. boneless Swamp, a 8pc. boneless Volcano, a 15pc. bone-in Gator, 15pc. boneless Hot, An order of Jalepeno Poppers, and a order of corn fritters, as well as a Large Lemonade. I waited about 10-15 total minutes for our complete order, which is pretty speedy if you ask me. I instantly knew something was wrong when my 8pc. boneless swamp came out as bone-in. I walked up to the counter and politely told him that I ordered boneless. He then started shaking his head and giving me an angry look on his face. He then says I didn't order boneless, which my party of 4 and myself all heard and knew I asked for boneless. He lectured us with the fact that he's been in service 26 years and that he knows what he's doing and that we were wrong. Myself, having also worked in the service industy for about the last year and a half at Lee's Famous Recipe, know that the customer is not to be treated this way. The owner raised his voice at me in front of a restaurant full of people, to which then I raise my voice back because I refuse to be talked to/ treated like that. I then asked for all my stuff in to-go boxes and left. This was the worst experience i've ever had in a restaurant setting, by far. The owner has nitpicky charges everywhere. All refills cost $1, you get no ice in your drink, blue cheese costs $1 PER CUP, and just to use my credit card it was a 3.5% extra fee. Personally, I do NOT recommend "Heavenly Wings" to ANYONE. TRUST the reviews that talk about the owner being rude and nasty. TRUST the reviews saying you will pay a pretty penny to enjoy some mediocre dinner. Honestly, I'd just stay away from this place completely and go somewhere else.
EDIT: Everyone enjoyed their wings to an extent, until I got to my bone-in batch. Bone-in was dry and almost sauceless. Also wanted to note that owner stared us down as we left the restaurant with a scowl. Not that that wasn't expected, just...
Read moreTheir food is delicious and affordable! Their fries are made to order, so no cold fries here! The staff puts vent holes in the to go boxes so that your wings are still crisp when you get home, and I don't know of anywhere else you can get a fried hot dog for 2.25. Also, my son got a burger that came with grilled onions among other things, and after he gave me a bite, I was jealous. It was VERY good, and at a price of 4.25, Idk where you'll find something comparable, in deliciousness, that is. You WILL have to wait, often times. But hey, they're cooking your food fresh while you do it. I enjoy the outside seating as well. I wouldn't say they're heavenly, but they're quite good. Same goes for collards and macaroni salad. Now, as for the corn fritters? YUM.Having never had a corn fritter before, I'd say it's a very delicious donut. It's like a county fair deep fried you name it. Power sugar on the outside, a couple, of pieces of corn in it, (ya know, 2) but it's not like you can taste corn when you eat it. I say skip the corn, the fried fritter with the powdered sugar on the outside is something I would have ordered myself. Make it a donut. My son however, who is a FOR REAL foodie, said it was a bit dry on the inside. I could taste what he meant. We ate ALL of them before we ever got home.
It's in a cruddy part of town, and God help you in the parking lot. Small, badly designed, but as particular and picky as Vero Beach City is, I'm sure was perfect for the size of their business when they opened it. Which I would assume to have been well over a decade ago. And to their credit, their customer base has outgrown their space, both inside (which has I believe four booths and three tables), and out. Yet all of us who have been going, still go, because it's worth it even when you have to park at the...
Read moreEveryone knows that Heavenly Wings should take pride in customer service. I ordered Honey BBQ Wings and Mild 20 piece. I get home and I have fried chicken with Honey poured on it. I have been going to Heavenly Wings since I was child and Mike watched most of us grow up going to Vero Beach High School. I called to let them know my order was wrong and what it should be. Instead of fixing my order, Mike wanted me to drive back across town for some Honey BBQ sauce instead of fixing the whole order over and making sure his customer was satisfied with the order and happy. Now I'm upset my order is wrong and I asked him to fix the order and your customer is always RIGHT! I KNOW what I ordered and Mike doesn't want to say the person who I found out is his wife took the order wrong. He wanted me to bring back the wings so y'all can toss it in Honey BbQ sauce or give me a side of Honey BBQ that I have at home. Not to mention he called me back after I told him I would write this review to tell me, his wife said Honey isn't a sauce. I didn't order no Honey on fried chicken Sir. Had the nerve to say most people order that , well I didn't. The phone call should have been handled better and If a customer is upset it is your job to fix the order and the customer service at hand. HEAVENLY WINGS HAS WENT DOWN FROM The 2000s when I was in school, and Mike is very rude when his customers aren't happy with the order they messed up. Unprofessional FAMILY ESTABLISHMENT with super...
