Went there for the first time ever. I was the first customer of the morning. I asked for boston creme and french crueller along with a few others to make a dozen. The gentleman was not writing down anything and looked like he was more upset that I pulled up at 05:28 and waited paitently a few feet back from the window. I shouted through the window because he walked away from me before I can rattle off the list of a dozen doughnuts. He did not tell me they had no boston creme and did not tell me they had no french cruellers, instead he took it upon himself to choose any random doughnut he thought of to fill the dozen. Listing 12 doughnuts, if they do not have four of the 12 doughnuts the customer asks for, you ask the customer what other doughnuts they would like, not just randomly fill it with doughnuts never mentioned. There was nobody else in line so his rushed attitude to send me off and sit by the drive thru window to do nothing was taken personally. After getting home I open the box and the two doughnuts I ordered for myself were not in the box. I drove back to the store and asked why there were no boston creme or fench crueller and the gentleman, after a second of discussing and figuring out what happened...instead of trying to replace the random donuts that I don't want (who wants vanilla sprinkles, but a doughnut debutante?!) He told me to give him the box and he just shoved $15 in my face, when my purchase was on a credit card. No ownership of the situation and he retreated from the situation by giving me a cash back return on a credit card charge and bad attitude. Sorry I'll never taste these doughnuts but if the gentleman that works the window cannot give me the basic service of, "sorry we don't have that kind, what else would you like" when there are NO OTHER CUSTOMERS then why would I think they can when there is a line of half a dozen people waiting in their cars?
If you opened up your dining room you'd probably have more customers, avoid any problem of an employee messing up an order or a customer asking for a doughnut you don't have (what doughnut kitchen doesn't have boston creme ready in the morning? It's on your menu!). It is inconsiderate to the customer if you ask me, twice as many parking spots in the lot than cars that can fit in a drive through line, making people pass on or start making a line that blocks traffic. No food is good enough to deal with pretentious businesses.
In response to owner's reply:
I know what the name of a boston creme is. See, you are SO pretentious that I MUST be wrong! You did not fill the order properly! You did not attempt to make it right by providing an exchange for doughnuts that a customer would have wanted.
So glad there are dozens of donut shops that are more respectful of their customers near here and I'll continue to tell everyone in this small town about this negative experience. And now, you're response which proves you cannot take ownership of your terrible establishment or the rude employee that...
Read moreThis place is another hidden gem of Vero Beach. You will most likely find out about them through word of mouth in the town but if you are visiting and want a really good donut stop here. It may not be your average donut shop due to its location and it's not a huge chain but it's a real donut. They are truly fried and you can taste the difference. They are airy and light but at the same time utterly delicious. This is my favorite dessert to eat in this whole town! I highly recommend the glazed donut to start and then go from there. If you are from NY they will remind you of a properly made zeppoli. If you add powder sugar there you go! They have a drive thru which is around the house like structure. Just trust me on this one. This place is legit and totally worth your money and a visit. They sell real donuts. Not artificial who knows what! You won't be let down. Next visit I will upload a photo. I forgot to mention the owners are excellent and sweet. They remember you as well which is good business. They care about the customer and...
Read moreWill not be going back. Their donuts are very good BUT the owners I’m assuming that run this place are extremely rude. I don’t frequent this side of town and this is only my second visit. I drove out of my way to swing by and I get an attitude because the owner pulled the wrong donuts when he wasn’t even paying attention to what I was asking for? There was another lady behind the counter that was being very nice to customers but this man was not. Then he said it’s an extra $1 to use a credit card and then when I asked about a check to avoid the charge he just laughed at me and said “I don’t take checks you pay the $1 to use your card”. Your customers are what pay your bills. If you don’t like dealing with the public then he should be in the back and not upfront. Dixie Crean is right by my house and I will just be going there...
