Church's Texas Chicken — Restaurant in Victoria

It was pretty good, but still not like it used to be. It used to be the bomb! Idk, something about the chicken fryer or grease. It leaves a weird aftertaste and feeling in my mouth. Like the grease needs to be changed maybe.... But all the time?? How so? Because probably the past 4 to 6 years, everytime I eat church's, that's what happens. It's not golden and crispy but flakey crust, like it had always used to be before. Idk, but the crispy skin stays darker than normally and more like actual skin, tough and like a sheet. Not flakey and brittle. I'm not hating on y'all because I do love church's, and I still go to hopefully get that taste I remember. I've been trying to figure it out for a long time now, but no telling. Maybe a step in the process preparing is different now or something. I placed an order online. I showed her my receipt on my phone and the woman at the counter said I had to confirm it. I said where does it say for me to confirm? She said I don't know. I looked at the receipt and it name everything I bought. I said do I need to show you my card to show the payment went through? She raised her voice and said that "a lot of purple come in here and say they paid and steal the food" I said my receipt is on my phone that matches the food you have over there. I enjoy church's but I hardly would go because it seems like most of all Church's are filthy inside. I was pleasantly surprised to see how clean and organized this church's chicken was. I was ordering a mixture of tenders and fried chicken and the woman workinf offered changes to help me purchase everything i needed at the cheapest possible option.
