20240202 The ch8cken pot pie was good. Pastry was flakey which I loved. Not enough chicken, a bit too much mushrooms. 20240127 I haven't been here since Covid, and I stocked up today. I wish the employees were friendlier, but I came here for their pies. 4 years ago... A little expensive but the quality justifies the price! Wow! I'm so happy that I found this pastry place and tried it for the first time. I bought a frozen chicken curry, chicken cordon bleu, lamb and beef, and I got a warmed chicken curry to try along with the pumpkin pastry. The curry chicken is wow! I love curry and this pantry is delicious. The pastry is a little flakey and crunchy. I would add a little salt to the filling. My finicky dog loved the chicken in the chicken curry. The pumpkin filling in the pumpkin pastry was very smooth, and just the right amount of sweetness. I ate it cold, and should have heated it up in the oven first. I would come back again. They sell other things that I have never seen before and chocolate that I have seen in Europe. The Service was excellent.

I absolutely LOVE Purse Pasty in Vienna, Virginia. They sell the most authentic British pasties. My favorite is the vegan cheese and onion. Please don't get scared about it being vegan because it is still delicious and melts just like real cheese. It is literally like eating a cheese and onion soup that is wrapped in fresh dough. They usually have it frozen, but it only takes about 10 minutes for them to heat it up. I love grabbing one of them in between teaching my piano lessons in my students' homes in the area. I am glad that they have many vegan options like the vegan cheese and onion, vegan samosa, vegan chicken BBQ, vegan taco, and so many more. They also have traditional meat versions as well. Everyone should try to visit them. It will be like taking a trip to a local shop in London.

Real British pasty's made by Britts. It's incredibly filling. The breading never gets soggy even on the second or third day. Eating just one pasty is a gut-buster so it's definitely worth the value at ~$10 per pasty. And they even have a rewards punch card where they allow you to combine multiple punch cards if you happen to keep forgetting to bring the last one. It's so exciting & tasty that the box of 5 pasties plus a meat pie (see pic) fed us for two and a half days. The Moroccan lamb and chicken marsala is the most flavorful in my opinion. And it even tastes better with sour cream, homemade gravy, or your favorite beer. So drop by, get a box of pasty's, and get filled up on some authentic British fare.

Let’s be honest — not many places can transport you straight to Cornwall with one buttery bite. But walk into The Pure Pasty Co., and suddenly you're not just grabbing lunch — you’re crossing continents via flaky pastry. Pronounced “pass-tee,” these compact savory pies aren’t just food — they’re tradition wrapped in golden crust. From grass-fed beef to Halal lamb, gooey cheese to pulled pork, every pasty here is a rich, hearty, handheld masterpiece. This isn’t just a meal. It’s a culinary passport.

The Pasties: Crave-Worthy, Compact & Completely British Whether you’re a first-timer or a regular filling your freezer stash, there’s a pasty with your name on it. The crowd-favorite? Without question — the Chicken Cordon Bleu. With its creamy, cheesy core and tender chopped chicken, it's a satisfying, flavorful classic. “Flaky, buttery, and deceptively filling!” “Pulled pork pasty has a slight tang I can’t describe — but it’s addictive.” “The beef could use more spice, but still juicy and well-cooked.” Plus, they serve freshly baked or frozen-to-go options, so you can enjoy a cozy British bite now and later.

It’s not just about the pies. Inside this little shop, you’ll find a treasure trove of iconic UK favorites: Cadbury bars, Walkers crisps, McVities biscuits, Branston Pickle, Ribena, Robinsons squash, bangers, and bacon. “Great for grabbing hard-to-find British snacks and condiments.” “They even have sausage rolls and pork pies ready to go!” Whether you’re craving a taste of home or just curious about what the Queen might snack on — Pure Pasty has it.

Quick Service, Cozy Charm The service? Fast and friendly. The vibe? A humble, warm neighborhood staple that’s more than earned its loyal following. And while you’ll want to come back for seasonal pasty specials, the classics never disappoint. “Sign up for their rewards program.” “Follow their reheat instructions — perfect every time.” Heads-up: The point-of-sale screen is very sensitive — so keep an eye when tipping, or just ask for assistance if you need it.

After you’ve warmed up with a cordon bleu pasty or a sausage roll, why not wind the day down with a smooth THC treat from PullUpDC? Whether it’s to enhance the flavor of those rich, savory fillings or just to kick back British-style, PullUpDC delivers elevated calm right to your door. The Pure Pasty Co. is your local portal to Britain — no passport required. Come for the comfort, stay for the flavor, and don’t forget your scone and sausage roll to-go. Pull up, dig in, and enjoy the savory side of the...

All hail Cornwall! Pasties are baked and stuffed pastries similar to empanadas. Cornwall in the UK is where pasties first originated and the Pure Pasty Co. is the first British bakery of its kind in Northern Virginia. Love that it's mere minutes from me!

I first encountered the Pure Pasty Co. at the Mosaic central farm market. I bought their chicken masala, which has chicken, potatoes, onions, bell peppers, and Indian spices. Delicious! Even though I bought it frozen and reheated it, it was still really good. The combination is a win, and the outside is still flaky and golden. Recently, I went into the actual store to have a fresh pasty. I ordered the traditional Cornwall pasty, which is grass-fed beef with potatoes, onions, and carrots. So, so good! Flaky shell and who can resist the combination of beef, potatoes, onions, and carrots? Everything's cooked to perfection. My boyfriend had the Beef Wellington pasty, and it was similarly delectable.

At the store, you can watch the staff make the pasties in the open kitchen. They will make the pasty shells from organic flour and shortening, take a huge chunk of uncooked filling and place it on the shell, and fold it in half. Then, the very skilled cooks will quickly crimp the edge to close up the pasty for baking.

Pure Pasty also makes meat pies and rolls, as well as cocktail pasties! I'd highly recommend stopping by Pure Pasty Co. for a bite of this savory...

took my bf there for a bday surprise (Nov. '18) and he loved it! PS: He grew up in WI, so the pasties were definitely a nice surprising reminder of the Yooper pasties he ate as a kid! :) my tastebuds wanted 2, but my belly could only fit 1. Jarob, being a tall athletic guy, wolfed down 2 and had a happy, dreamy, satisfied look on his face on the long drive home. :)

since that first trip, (May '19) his mom and aunt drove all the way from WI to visit! His stepfather is from Wales and has, apparently, never been able to find pasties up there like what he remembers as a kid (flaky crust!). (The ones near him are more doughy.) And Flake bars, Fruit and Nut bars... Aero. Bangers. - I brought my bf's mom and aunt to try some pasties on their 3rd day here, and they exclaimed: "We're coming back before we leave and stocking up!"

We got a large foam cooler from Harris Teeter and crammed in as many pasties, sausage rolls and bangers as possible! And we filled one of your large, brown paper shopping bags with candies and chocolates! - I called a week after they'd left, and she said: "he was SO happy! The pasties were all he ate for lunch for a week! And he's been making the chocolate last, hiding it in nooks and crannies! And the Turkish Delight reminds him if his mother because that's what she liked." - thank you for making such good food that spreads...
