Ever been to a restaurant and you know about 1/2 way through your meal that you're never coming back? That's this place. The place wasn't actively bad, it just wasn't even close to being good. I ordered the large jumbo shrimp, the small frog legs, fries, Cole slaw, and a tea. It came out to just over $31. The shrimp was totally bland and there may have been more breading than shrimp. The cocktail sauce was decent (you pay an extra $1 for that) but they forgot to give me tartar sauce so I can't rate that. The texture of the shrimp was really weird. I've been eating shrimp all my life and have never seen any shrimp like this. There were 14 fries (I counted) and while the frog legs were good, they again had way too much breading on them. This place only takes cash but don't worry if you don't carry any - they have an ATM right there. Someone more adventurous than me can let us know what the atm fee is. I won't ever be back. There are much better places to eat along that road.

The scallops were amazing perfectly breaded and deep fried. Shrimp were fresh and really big again perfectly breaded and deep fried. Frog legs were great tender and not too fishy tasting. This is up there with blue island in Chicago. Clam strips also really good. The pricing is great as well. I'm happy I don't have to drive to Chicago for good food like this now.

Really great, quick, easy, cheap , fresh, fried seafood, chicken, and/or sides. Went in, ordered to go, and walked out with a $20.50 order in 7 minutes for two. Real good, fresh, and clean…can’t say it enough. Great option for a quick grab n go! Wait to Goooooo Captain B’s…I hope you get the support you need out in the burbs!! Please give it a go!!

Man, I hate to be negative about a local spot...but, I can't help it in this instance. I'd been meaning to try this place for awhile, and I was really hankering for some tasty seafood. I ordered a medium regular shrimp, a medium catfish, and a pizza puff. The only thing that was edible was the pizza puff... The shrimp were overcooked, over-breaded, tasteless, and I'm guessing probably old. I've never had shrimp like that, and it was awful. I'm not kidding when I say that I've had much better shrimp from fast food places. It was actively appalling, and I simply couldn't finish it. The catfish didn't go much better. Again, overcooked, completely over-breaded, and didn't taste fresh. Some spots were so overcooked and over-breaded, that it was like biting into a rock. The catfish itself tasted like bad, old catfish. The only flavor I was getting from it, was that overly muddy flavor that bad catfish, poorly prepared has. The Pizza Puff, thankfully, was fine. But then, they're already preprepared, and just need to be fried up. The staff were nice and helpful, and the guy at the counter seemed to know his job and how to handle customers really well. There's really no atmosphere to speak of, as a lot of the space is taking up by a "gaming" area. Though, I'll give them credit for have an old Mrs Pacman/Galaga arcade machine. All and all, this was beyond disappointing, and honestly one of the worst eating out experiences I've ever had. I've never been to the original location, so I can't speak to overall quality of the business as a whole, but I really hope that this was just a one-off bad day, and not indicative of what they usually offer. Hopefully this review helps them to take a look at their...

Omg!! An amazing taste of the city in Villa Park. I've had my share of different shrimp houses with much disappointment until now. Trying to understand why some are calling it bland because everything I ate was full of flavor. The scallops were tender with the perfect amount of breading. Same with the fish bites and the jumbo shrimp. Best hush puppies we've ever had... Not just a ball of cornbread. Oh and the sauces... amazing. The homemade cocktail sauce was fantastic. If you haven't tried it, run don't walk. You won't be sorry. Those who remember stopping at the shrimp house stops will...
