The food is always good, but the service could be a lot better. I was in on a Wednesday night around 7 pm, and it was not crowded. So every single one of the server staff (young girls) was either on a cell phone or standing around looking over the shoulder of a fellow server on her cell phone. I think some were on Tinder or some other dating app, because they seemed to be judging and swiping and giggling, completely ignoring the customers. They would stand around swiping on their phones for about 10 minutes, and then they would take a break from that to go check on their tables. And I think every one of the restaurant’s phone lines had been placed on hold, because the red lights were blinking the entire time I sat there and ate (which was about 45 minutes); the phone never rang; and then a lady came in and said she had been trying to call and place a “to go” order for half an hour, and she said she got a busy signal the entire time. That’s because the girl standing by the phone literally did nothing except lean/hide out against the post and either text or check her cell phone THE ENTIRE TIME I was there.
Because the place wasn’t crowded, they had an opportunity to provide great service and interact with the customers on a more personal level, creating goodwill for the business. Instead, they saw that as an opportunity to socialize on their cell phones and turned what could have been great service into fair to poor service. If I were the manager, I would absolutely ban the use of cell phones while on duty. It looks really bad to see a server who literally seems unable to make it from a table to the kitchen without having to pull her phone out and check to see if they have a text message or swipe a few Tinder matches. It’s absurd...
Read moreTook my family here for dinner on 2/6/20. It was't all that crowded at the time, tables were available. We were a table of 5 people. We place our order and then waited over an hour for our food to come. The food came out sporadically. First we got our fries. We all started eating on the 2 baskets of fries. From where I was sitting I could see down the galley of the kitchen all the way to the back. Every one was just standing around talking. Finally after another 10 minutes our subs came out. Everyone had their food except my 7 year daughter who we had ordered a spaghetti and meatball. I heard the waitress ask the kitchen where her order was. I didn't hear the response. The waitress tells us the Kitchen got backed up and her food would be right up (I don't eat until my children have their food). Another 10 minutes goes by, still no activity in the kitchen. The waitress comes to the table and this time says " I'll be honest they just forgot about her order". Now my food and my husbands food is cold. Another 5 minutes goes by and what I assume is the kitchen manager comes out and tells us the reason she hasn't gotten her food is because they dropped the meatballs on the floor. At this point, who was telling the truth? Would we like her food with out the meatball. My daughter was very upset and hungry. She still wanted the meatball. After waiting another 5 minutes my husband goes to the counter and asks for her meal to go. They immediately put her order in a to go container and handed it to him with no wait time. After all of this the only thing they did was take off the charge for the spaghetti. My husband and I never ate our subs and left...
Read moreOrdered a large and medium pizza with some cheese sticks as an appetizer. Requested extra sauce because it usually is drier if I don’t. For there to pick up my order when I was told it would be ready. When I arrived I was told it would be another 6 minutes. I noticed a white plastic bag on a desk or shelf behind the counter. After 10 more minutes my pizzas came out and the waitress started to hand me the white bag which contained my cheese sticks. I said I’d prefer some hot ones and she took them to the back room saying they’d remake them. After another few minutes she brought them out and when she opened the box they looked darker than normal. Like they just rewarded them. I has been sick a few days and wanted to get home instead of spending another 30 minutes for another failure. When I got home and the kids started digging in there was barely any sauce on either pizza and I they had given me a small pizza instead of a medium. Charged me for the medium though. We tossed everything. This place used to be great, but after reading the reviews I see that my experience has become par for the course at the Mirror Lake location. I also noticed that the owner has not been reaching out to customers that complain about it so I can see how this is a continuing problem. The manager did offer to remake but as I said I was am sick and wanted to get back home. It’s truly a shame that with the rising costs these days that customer service and a heading in the opposite direction. At least at...
