Unfortunately, before the pandemic crisis on businesses, the Sonic drive-in franchise was growing smaller in our area leaving the store in Villa Rica as one of the few that remained. Even now this store is very busy in both their traditional drive-in AND their drive-thru business. Regardless of politics or pandemics (and right or wrong for our health) we Americans do still love our comfort food!
However, this particular store, is also obviously in trouble as they can barely keep up with the demands of customer service. Also at a closer look you can see they are also barely keeping up with maintaining appearances/condition of the store property and structures. We found the stores drive-thru line long and most of the drive-in stalls occupied. A number of stalls were out of service without order boards not repainted or replaced just abandoned.
Our wait was long.. Over 10 minutes just to be acknowledged and have our order taken, another 25 minutes to receive that order and another 5 minutes for the attendant to take my card and go process payment because as it turns out the card reader along with the order boards monitor at our stall was also not working.
Truth is had I known the card reader didn't take my payment I would have left this restaurant.
Without serious attention and investment of time and money by the owners to this propertt and its structures along with hiring and training a number of additional staff.. At this rate no amount of signs requesting customer patience or any amount of customer loyalty to product or franchise will save what is obviously to become another unfortunate and unnecessary...
Read moreWas so excited to try sonic as it’s been a while. We go through the drive through and receive our food. We ordered Two foot long hot dog meals & medium chili cheese fries. When taking the order I notice glancing that we were missing the chili cheese fries. We let the workers know politely and they say “are you sure it’s not in there” we stated no. Though we should have looked harder. We realized after driving away and them handing us a medium chili cheese fry and a coupon for a free corn dog next time ( which let me add when we got home we realized the coupon given to us is expired!!!! LOL!!!! anyways the ENTIRE order was truly wrong!!! We believed we were missing the fries because they put them in the foot long package tray. So it was our assumption we had both foot long hot dogs. Just to realize when almost home that we had two tiny chili hot dogs when there were suppose to be TWO 12” foot longs and 1 MEDIUM chili cheese fry. 30$ at fast food for it all to be wrong and horrible service. Read moreWhat a mess! My son received a gift card and wanted to take me out to eat. So, we went to check out Sonic. It was our 1st (and probably last) time there. Went by this evening and he decided he wanted a shake too. Well, his gift card was only worth $25 and the total came up to $29 and some change. So, I told him I'd cover the difference. Got to the window and the girl told me "we don't take split payments " So, I told her just take my shake of. Then she said "we can't take food off a ticket, I already printed it. We'll, I've been in the restaurant business for 30 years and just don't believe that. Customers change their minds all the time. So, while I was sitting there trying to decide if I actually wanted to even do business at this point, she rudely slammed the window shut and walked off. Well, that definitely solidified my answer. Our 1st time ever at sonic. I'd sell that gift card for $5 before I'd give them my business. I hope all Sonics aren't handled like that.
