I’m sorry but that was an extremely okay bagel (and they were definitely fresh at the time so there was no excuse). It was small, often crunchy, and texturally not high quality. Anyone saying this is highly authentic has not really had a lot of great bagels, it’s just impossible. Straight up refuses to toast bagels. I’ve honestly never heard of such a thing. Sounds like something out of a Seinfeld episode. If you literally have to tell every customer every transaction that you don’t toast bagels you’re clearly doing something wrong. Bagels were quite undercooked and would have been better if they simply toasted as I had requested. There’s nothing sacrilegious about toasting bagels.
