I am big on “customer service”. I don’t mean that in “the customer is always right”, I mean that in a business being upfront, honest, professional, and doing everything they possibly can to help their customers and provide them with the best product, service, and experience. I got that with dealing with Value Electronics.
My Wife wanted to get me a new TV for Fathers Day, rather than going to a big box store or Bestbuy, I chose to try VE as I have heard so much about them over the years. I called and spoke to Wendy, who was super polite and helpful. She explained to me all the options and how the order process would go and the services they offer, along with what to expect with me living several states away. She was very upfront about the time frame on getting me my new TV, which I was fine with. I decided to go ahead and spend the extra money to have the TV quality controlled and calibrated to be safe. After all I was saving money due to no sales tax, and it would equal the amount I would have been charged almost in sales tax here in my state anyway, plus I’ve always wanted to know my TV’s were spot on. Long story short, I had some issues with the shipping company delivering not on the scheduled date. Plus the TV box was banged up and damaged, nothing that was of VE fault, and the TV after powering on once wouldn’t turn back on. It was dead in the water no matter what I tried, and I tried everything. My heart sank, my wife was upset. I emailed VE that evening, and then called them Monday to confirm they got my email letting them know the issues. Robert replied knowing who I was and apologized for the inconvenience and assured me they would take care of me. Boy did they step up BIG and do just that! After sending them all the information about the TV and some pictures, they immediately started the process of getting me a replacement that under went quality control and calibration and within a week or so I had a replacement.
Now some who read this may say, well had you of gone to _ you could have avoided a lot of hassle and just returned it that day and had another etc etc. I will respectfully disagree. I’ve dealt with many businesses and manufacturers over the years during my love for electronics and home theater, and that’s not necessarily true. Could I maybe have gotten a the TV elsewhere quicker, maybe maybe not. Many places are still even now trying to get inventory on many products. Not to mention I wanted peace of mind knowing I didn’t have to worry about panel lottery and I wasn’t looking for instant gratification of getting the TV as fast as I could just to say I had it. I wanted the best possible service, peace of mind, and a calibrated panel when purchasing this new TV and that’s exactly what I got from VE! Trust me, if they can and have the ability, they take care of their customers! Thanks VE, Robert & Wendy for the great service and amazing TV!    Read moreI visited Value Electronics after learning of it on AVSForums. While it is somewhat on the small side, it's got great products on display. And rest assured, the TV's on the wall for comparison purposes are all professionally calibrated. Therefore, it may be one of the few if not the only store in the area that one can make an apples to apples comparison. I can't begin to count how many times I've gone to a Best Buy or Costco, viewed the TVs and people make a decision on what they see. One TV may be set to vivid, another to cinema, and there is a huge difference in brightness and color. Most people would immediately choose the one set to vivid though it may be inferior to the next. In fact, they probably set them that way due to ignorance, or more likely, stock levels. Make the product we have loads of in our stock room look better, or the one with the higher margin. None of that at Value Electronics. They also have a very well done theater in the rear of the store with a great screen and projector. One look at it and you'll want one. Great store. Are their prices higher than some other places? Yes, but you often get what you pay for in knowledge...
