Gerald's Ice Cream & Affogatos — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

Nice clean location. Employees were friendly and efficient. Ice cream was amazing. Between the 4 of us I tried 4 different flavors and they were all very delicious. I knocked off one star because of the prices. Now let me explain, I don’t mind paying for good ice cream, I think the ice cream itself was worth it. I was a little discouraged that the employees have scales and were weighing every scoop. What I really thought was unfair was the pricing for toppings vs how much they actually give you. $1+ for hot fudge which was out of a squirt bottle and not really warm, but very little was put on the ice cream. Same rule applied for all the toppings we had, whip cream, sprinkles etc. I don’t mind paying for toppings but felt they should be a little more generous for the prices they charge. $55 for the 4 of us. I would still recommend them but if I went again I would only get ice cream and skip...

Wow! Saw this place while watching 13news earlier this week, I knew I had to get there this weekend. So my wife and I just happened to be on Laskin rd today, soooo we dropped in... very nice looking place, pastries, little chocolates, ice creamm bars in display cases looked so good. They have sorbets and a host of other things. I had to stay focused on the ice cream, and I may have spent all my money 😁😁. They allow 2 free samples per customer. I forgot to ask about any military discounts available.There is plenty of room to eat in or enjoy outside seats. My wife ended up getting the Madagascarvanillaa on a waffle cone , and I got the gooey butter cake with raspberry swirl both great. Waffle cones were fresh and tasted great..Definitely homemade and delicious.we will be...

I took my family to Gerald's Saturday night and we all tried different flavors. The ice cream is very unique and made with real quality ingredients. It has a fresh homemade taste. My daughter loved the mint chocolate chip, my 2 year old granddaughter loved the purple UBE ice cream which is made from the Ube root, very cool. I have been a vegan for the past year so I tried the vegan Peanut Butter & Chocolate Chunk. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I honestly couldn't tell it was Vegan. The cakes and ice cream sandwiches look amazing and I'm sure we will get them in the future. It's nice to have this place as an option for something unique and fresh. I am excited to try the other...
