So my 2 kids, my friends and her son , and I went to eat at this establishment todayand didn't have a good experience at all! 1st let me say this I was a waitress for several years rarely did my customers have to ask for anything! In fact I prided myself on making sure I gave the service I wanted! So our waitress Kerry greeted us quickly (they weren't busy so no reason she shouldn't have) and took our drink orders wrote them repeated it back as we said it then got 2 out of 5 wrong. When fixing the problem wrote it again and still got them wrong! We placed our orders me not a pork eater specifically said a side of turkey sausage twice then before she walked away asked if she got my TURKEY SAUSAGE she said she did. We waited forever in this not very busy establishment for our food to come I ordered a big steak omelette. I did as it's what I always get when going to IHOP because its always filling and has plenty of the ingredients you don't have to ask for extras boy was I disappointed all I tasted was egg and hashbrowns! I bit into what was supposed to be turkey sausage and it was pork. Unsure if I was wrong (maybe its the brand) I aasked my friend to taste it she agreed it was pork so I pushed it aside complaining because its been 15 1/2 years since I have had pork and I didn't want to be sick. We continued to eat our food though we were all a bit disappointed no flavor or wrong food. When the waitress finally came back we asked about the sausage and sure enough PORK! She fixed that problem and asked about refills. 1st off if we empty and still eating of course you shouldn't have to ask and 2nd she brought wrong drinks again! Now we are all a bit upset but trying to refrain from getting ignorant so we ask for boxes when she comes back. She brings tiny boxes which would only work for the omelette so we ask for something bigger for the pancakes in the mean times we are having to run back and forth to the restroom because we are all beginning to feel sick. She leaves the check and upon looking at it there is extra stuff on it. Another waitress we didn't get her name asked if she could help us so she took the check to fix it. She didn't come back but our waitress did showed the receipt fixed and walked away, but didn't hand it to us so we could pay. All our plates were empty and sitting neatly in piles along with several drink cups (again I was a server so I tidy up before leaving) After waiting another 20 minutes and refraining from becoming ignorant I pleasantly asked to have the manager come to our table. I then had to go get sick in the restroom. When I rreturned my friend was explaining all the issues to the manager who seemed nice enough. She said to him she may have other things to add to which I explained I was a server for years in a super busy environment I understand good days and bad days and all that but with the little business and the amount of servers they had in there there was no excuse for it he apologized for the inconvenience and said he would give us a discount. For an almost $100 bill he took off a whopping $13.78.... Wow! Then we go to the register (my son already outside getting sick) and there are other issues arising it takes another 5-10 to get checked out. Times spent at this establishment 2 hours amount of time actually eating, drinking, conversing, and enjoying each others company 20 minutes! It was beyond ridiculous and they lucky we all were sick or there would have been a scene over the...
Read moreServer chose to provide superb service to other customers. It was obvious she didn't want us as customers. I start at $20 as a baseline tip it goes up or down depending on you! ! she didn't check on us after another server delivered or food that's 3-4 minutes after you started. No syrup or the milk I ordered. But she walk past 3 times to get 4 to of preferred client. She also had a table of undesired right near the 4 top. We noticed (both groups of uneanted) each other needing and struggling to get proper service. So the food was actually good. It wasn't how i odered but I asked another waitress for help to get what I needed.I attempted to justify her (Ferren L)lack of service on being short staffed ,but, clearly that was not the reason.I enjoy food and great service and I reward my experience with great Tips!! Usually. Unfortunately my friend and I both know and feel that if we were of the desired clientele look we would have recieved the same level of service the 4 top recieved.Side note they came in after he and I. This important because ferret smiled and went to them as we finished ordering.they recieved their drinks before we did, keep in mind we ordered our breakfast already. I absolutely don't make things about persuasion or race but it was obvious she wanted to serve them.i just wanted the same for myself and she would've recieved 20 a piece from Us.The food was good but service left a nasty taste in my mouth and the 3 top also.i said something to the gentleman on the 3top and they acknowledged feeling the same way.when you know you know.....One day in this world color issues will change but the color of our money is the same...... Serving is Hard but if you serve the same for everyone then a person like myself who have waited tables in the past talky tip because we know the struggle and appreciate the job you do.Ferren L missed out on a really great tip today by not doing the basics of she treated us like she did them...
Read moreOkay, so the wait to get a table was long, considering the restaurant was only half full. This should have been a sign. We were able to get our order in quickly once seated, but it took FAR too long to arrive at our table. The "hot syrup" we had been warned would be warm, not hot, but was room temp as it came out 10m before the food. When we asked to have it heated up, we were informed there would be a wait. Apparently the kitchen staff is "mean" to the servers, and get upset when servers need to use the 1 microwave in the store. The food was okay, I guess. My burger was pretty bland, her omelette wasn't as hot as she likes her food. We were given plastic cutlery when we sat dow ln, and when we asked for metal, we were told there was none. How can a restaurant not have metal forks? We were informed that they were all dirty, amd she would have to clean them, if we wanted to wait. Waiting too long has been a theme, and we didn't want our food to get colder. We declined both syrup reheating and proper cutlery for a dine in experience. This all pales in comparison to check time. Someone not our server took our card, and walked away from the register without a word. Odd enough, but a good 8 minutes later, I personally walked back to see the problem. Apparently the person ringing our card charged another table to it. That charge is still oending on the account, but "should fall off". I was given a direct number to call if it doesn't, but what if I need that money in the mean time? Our server was nice enough, I guess, but overall I would call this particular Ihop slow, unprepared, unhelpful, and detrimental to their own continued business. I can only hope that if I must stop here again, I can give a better review, but in this recession, my money is better...
