Iron Grill — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

Be sure to look at your receipt before purchasing items at this location! Upon ordering the hibachi steak and rice combo meal, my card was declined three times thereby adding a 50-cent charge each time I was declined even though I had enough money for the meal on my card!

My solution was to add another increment to my card balance and then swipe my card for a final time. The third time was good to go however a $3 tip was also added to my final balance even though I was taking my food to go and a tip was not required through the services. I reported this information to the staff the man at the counter had to call his boss I'm assuming the co-owner and the response was that I was supposed to call my bank and figure out why these 50 cent charges were imposed he did not address the $3 tip balance that was added before the charge completed the transaction.

I stopped here today on the way home from work. I was starving. I ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi with the vegetables, volcano sushi and the miso soup.

Let me explain. I am a sushi either, and I eat at hibachis. This was some of the worst food I have ever had at an hibachi. For starters, the miso soup was so hot. It scorched my tongue. I have no idea how they heated it up, but it just tastes like extremely hot boiling water 😭 I got a refund for that. The volcano roll, ( which I love), had one strip of crab meat and so called tuna and fill with too much rice. The so-called tiny piece of tuna was so dry. I spit it out to see exactly what it was. Me and my family came into this restaurant just days after their opening. We were welcomed upon entering and the lady worker helped us out with our food order. The menu was organized and easy to understand. The food we ordered was exactly what we have come to expect and it left us with happy stomachs at the end. Some of us are from the Chicago suburbs and we know how great hibachi restaurants are there. And Iron Grill is just as good!
