Waffle House — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

Im here visting from NY for about two weeks and i visit different food service employments. One July 24th you can say 25th at about 1:30 - 2am i bought it upon myself to visit this location. First problem was all employees wasnt wearing a mask Second custmores where not wearing masks and it is a sign on they door stating mask must be wore. Moving on i order TWO T-BONE STEAKS WITH EXTRA OINIONS WITH BOTH OF THEM BEING WELL DONE ONE WITH CHEESE EGGS AND GRITS AND THE OTHER MEAL WITH SUNNY SIDE UP EGGS AND HASHBROWNS well lets say one steak was over cooked the other one was still bleeding a little one order of eggs had no cheese the hashbrowns was all way done and the toast that came with it was soggy because all the butter A $35 MEAL WASTED i didnt notice until i got to the hotel so right at that moment i begain calling the store took 15-20mins to get thru when finally answer i speak to a yound lady she apologize states the yound lady was new who took my order and ensured me my meals would be replaced took my information THE PROBLE I CALLED TO RETRIVE MY MEALS THAT I WAS ENSURE OF and at that moment i was told the DISTRICE MANGER SAID I COULDNT GET A REPLACEMENT IF I DIDNT RETURN THE FOOD mind you it has now been about 24hours since this happened WAS NOT TOLD BY THE LADY WHO ENSURED ME IT WOULD BE REPLACE TO RETURN THE FOOD ALL SHE STATED WAS WE WILL GIVE YOU REPLACEMENT MEALS AND APOLOGIZE FOR IT Truthfully if she would have said that i would have took that 10min ride to return it but I TRASTED IT WHO GOING TO KEEP FOOD OUT 24HOURS AND I INFORM THE LADY WHO ENSURE MY ORDERS WOULD BE REPLACE I WASNT COMING UNTIL LATER AND SHE STATED THAT IS FINE WE REPLACING IT This is why i am leaving this review I NEVER leave a bad review because i do not want to down put anyone business but right is right wrong is...

I visited this location about 2:40am on a Monday night. It was empty, customer wise. When I walked in, I only saw 1 waitress who promptly greeted me. She told me that they only doing to go orders… I’m unsure why though. Thus bummed me out.

I ordered the Texas bacon cheesesteak melt plate with hashbrowns about a minute after glancing over the menu. After ordering, I went to the restroom to check cleanliness, and it was nasty… When I came out, the cook and another waitress was present. While observing the restaurant, I noticed a couple tables that still needed to be cleaned. Specifically, one of tables still had the high chair next to it and trash/food on the ground.

My food was ready at 2:50am I got some ketchup packets and headed back to my hotel, which was a minute drive away. The first thing I noticed when I got ready to eat was that my hashbrowns were over cooked… However, the bread on my melt was browned beautifully. I drowned my hashbrowns in ketchup and ate them. They weren’t bad, but I just prefer my hashbrowns to be more soft than crispy. The melt was delicious! Overall, pretty good experience. It is Waffle House after...

For a place named The Waffle House these were the worst waffles I've ever had (I'm suprised the pecans werent actually the powdered stuff like the blueberry ones were). The Smothered hash browns were almost as bad as an old school hospital meal. There was so much grease in the food I left feeling queasy. And all the others in my group left feeling not so great either. This is the first time a restaurant has made everyone run home and immediately have to use the bathroom.

The place looks pretty clean but had the feeling of being otherwise. The first glass came with food in it. A plate had something on it before food hit it. I'm giving it one star because I can't give negative stars. I lived in Norfolk for 20 years and have always driven by this restaurant without even thinking about eating there for more than a second. Now I wish I had not tried it.
