Miami Fusion Cuban Bakery & Bistro — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

I had high expectations for this place and was let down horribly. My wife and I entered and the ladies behind the counter were friendly. I asked about the pies and cakes and they mostly answered my questions. We ordered 2 pieces of key lime pie for $7 each to go and they took the pie off to the side, cut pieces, put them in boxes and handed them to us. I wish I had checked the boxes prior to leaving. We sat down at home and these were the smallest pieces of pie I have ever had, especially for $7! Sadly the disappointment did not stop there; the flavor of the pie was too egg like and not enough lime and the crust was poor in texture and flavor. There is a place that serves cakes and pies not far down Kempsville Rd that serves pieces almost twice the size we received for the same price and I thought that was expensive! Such a pleasant surprise to stumble across this small establishment. Well above average quality food w/ flavors, ingredients and choices to break up the standard monotony. Prices reflect the quality, no complaints. The cheese pull on the steak Arepa was “worthy”. The flavors fresh. The Venezuelan beef empanada had the same fresh dough as the Arepa, and filled with/ shredded beef of excellent portion size. Plantains were perfectly sweet and caramelized just right. Absolutely worth stopping by for a quality meal, well above average flavors, freshness and simply something of a different variety and flavor blend. Absolutely adding to my list of favorites...

Lived in Miami Beach, and have been searching for authentic Guava and Cheese pastries and Coladas ever since. Our go to was Pinecrest Bakery but nothing here locally sold anything equivalent. Stumbled upon their IG and instantly came! Owners are incredibly nice, and even let me try a ham croquetta, jerk chicken with coconut rice empanada, and a Colombian chicken empanada- just for waiting (which the wait was worth it), all of it was 12/10! It’s not just identical to what they have in South Fl, but better! Will be back to try...
