Mongolian Grill — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

Went here on accident but decided to go ahead and try it. In the beginning the waiter was very nice and explained it to us. We went up and picked what we wanted in our bowls. The men that were at the grill one was staring so hard it was uncomfortable. I tried to just not make eye contact. Than I saw that they had egg drop soup so I got some. Sat down and notice that the soup is alot darker than what I normally see in egg drop soup and on my second bite I picked up something green and gray in it. It looked alot like mold. I dont believe it was but it was close enough for me not to want it. When I showed it to the waiter he got a bit snippy stating they make the soup fresh everyday. Which is great but here I am showing him this green gray thing in my soup. He than offered a new bowl from the same pot. No thank you. After that I was kinda not interested in eating anymore but I did try the grill one more time. It was decent. They cook it well not over cooked but you really need to know what sauce to add or it is kinda bland. I wish they had some recipes or suggestions around. The wait staff around were all very nice even my waiter despite the soup interaction he was a good waiter and the green tea was very yummy. Would I come back? Probably not. But I do have high...

I will start woth the customer service being excellent. I was cautious coming here because I have food sensitivity/allergies to onions/garlic and know those are popular in this type of food. I mentioned food allergies to the greeter and she said they will cook mine separately in the back to help prevent cross-contamination. Above and beyond what most would do here. The selection is a bit small but I was already limited on what I could eat. Rice comes with the order so I just grabbed some meat and green peppers (which I normally dont care for) and it turned out delicious!

Only thing of note besides the small options is that the floor was a bit slippery when we came. Everything else was great and we will be coming...

Mongolian Grill is absolutely fantastic! The restaurant is spotless — one of the cleanest I’ve ever seen. Everything from the tile floors to the stainless-steel cooking area is neat, organized, and well cared for, which really makes the experience stand out. The service is excellent, and the owner is a wonderful host who makes you feel right at home.
