I just bought a house 5 minutes from here and was looking for a local pizza place to frequent. This looked like it could be the spot.
Ordered a stromboli and large pepperoni for pick up. When I arrived the gentleman at the counter was having a conversation on his phone on speaker. He did not initially greet me.
After waiting for him to wrap up his conversation, I guess now I may introduce myself— so I did.
He calls me a door dasher. I ordered off of GrubHub, but I am not a door dasher. I do not correct his error. He’s already shown he cannot properly greet his customers.
After retrieving my order he hassles me to show him my order on my phone as if I am stealing food from his establishment. I guess providing my name and the exact items I ordered were not enough. That is when I tell him I am not a door dasher. I tell him to please give me my food. He then tells me he still has to check.
I order food off Uber Eats and GrubHub probably 10-15 times a month. Never am I confronted at the place of pick up with some employee going through my phone so that I may get my food. And I think when they receive the order it tells them if a customer is picking it up or a delivery person.
This guy is ridiculous and lacks customer service skills. I’m not sure if he treats everyone likes this or maybe I didn’t fit his profile of someone who deserved...
Read moreNapoli's is a small mom & pop type pizza parlor located on Va Beach Blvd in the Little Neck area of the city. The dinning room is cozy with only 3 booths and 2 tables.
Napoli's serves a NY Neapolitan style pizza, however the slices aren't as big as NY slice. The taste was outstanding, the dough was a medium thickness and obviously fresh with a nice crispness on the bottom side. Their sauce had a bit of a bitter edge to it which I prefer over sweet sauces and the pepperoni was premium grade. Last but not least the cheese was straight up mozzarella. Very good indeed.
On the most recent carry out order I had a small peperoni, mushroom & onion. The veggies were definitely fresh and the crust was awesome. I think next time I'm going to try a calzone.
The one downside (to some people) was that it was an extremely greasy pizza. Make sure you grab some...
Read moreThis used to be my go to pizza spot for many years but have watched it go down hill the past year or so. This last experience was the nail in the coffin. My in laws were up from Florida and wanted pizza from a local place. We figured we’d give them one more shot. Bad idea.. first off they got the order wrong. We ordered a pizza with mushrooms, sausage and onions.. it only had mushrooms. We had it delivered so we couldn’t do much about that and everyone was so hungry we didn’t really care. However the pizza was so bad nobody could manage to eat more than one piece. Hard to describe it but it was like eating rubber with no sauce and crumbly cheese on it. I will say the marinara sauce was amazing and the garlic knots were decent.
It’s too bad. They used to be one of the best...
