My wife and I wanted breakfast so we thought we try the new location of pop's diner. We've eaten at Pop's several times in the past including during the Pandemic. Today was different. Poor service and listening skills, very poor customer service management from the shift manager Nicole. When I ordered my food I asked for butter. When the food arrived it was served with margarine and by the time I realized it. I had spread it on my French toast and mixed it in with my grits. I attempted to get the waitress to reorder. That went south very quickly. She asked "Oh you want butter "? My reply " yes that's what I asked for". The look I got from her...how dare you offend ME for trying to get what you asked for. Unfortunately we are in place where someone can't be corrected because you may offend them. If you are working with the public that's a very bad character trait to have. Well at that point I didn't trust that my food could be remade without something being done to it in retribution. My wife barely touched her food. She asked if I wanted to leave, because she wasn't going to eat when I wouldn't have been able to enjoy my meal. The manager made us pay for her meal before we left even though she hardly touched it. Needless to say now my wife is upset we were charged for her meal and we will not ever go there again. So.. all of this was correctable with first listening, second compassionate listening and understanding and lastly good customer passion. I guess $25 and standing one's ground was more important than a satisfied repeat customer and a very bad review...Make sure you see the pictures! You can see from my reviews I've eaten all over the country. I don't like to post negative things, but this has to be my...
Read moreLets me start by saying I am a lover of Pops Diner Co, its my go to place if im with the kids. The place is family friendly with the food and atmosphere. Food is good, hot, and fast pulse the fact that the kids eat free everyday consent hurt. With all that said today's visit was the most horrible experience we have ever had and has differently colored my opinion in a bad way. This location upon walking in is clearly smaller that our favorite spot in Chesapeake. They were not crowded when my party of six entered two adults four children. They only have two extra large booths both were filthy. Food was all over the floor and the table was sticky like it was never wiped. We asked for that to be fixed and got a half attitude half wipe down. This should have been my first clue to leave and eat somewhere else but the kids were excited and hungry. Our waitress brought water and no straws to the table she also forgot that she stuck her thumb in my water glass while sitting it on the table Gross!! My sister order a salad and I ordered a shrimp wrap. When my food arrived my shrimp was not cook her salad had old lettuce that was brown. I was shocked how in the world do you offer this to someone to eat? The only things that were ok were the kids grill cheese. The waitress was surprised that I didnt want to get anything else. They did take the food off but the looks the staff gave after doing so made the situation uncomfortable. Word of advice for staff less chatting and social media and more cleaning. I will never go to this...
Read moreI was looking forward to eating here because of the reviews I've read. Saw some negative reviews, but figured I'd give it the benefit of the doubt. Food wise, it is very good, I have to agree. Service wise? No. I'd rather go to a different establishment. Not sure where the disconnect was (they said "it got a little crazy"), but my family and I ended up waiting for longer than what 5-10 minutes the greeter said for a table, and if I didn't have my husband ask why we were still waiting when there were more than 7 other parties that got there after we did, get there table, we probably would have been still sitting for a while IN FRONT of where the greeters were. Suffice to say, I was not very happy and I am usually a very patient person. I will agree that the manager, upon finding out (he was the one the we happened to ask), immediately took action and even offered us a free appetizer and his apologies, of which did help in the whole scheme of things. It is only because of him, that I will rate it ok. I would recommend something more than just writing down who's next for a table as a way of tracking their customers waiting, or even, to just check on the people waiting so they don't lose track of them. Sadly, first impressions go a long way, and even if the food was great, my family and I will not be...
