I stumbled across Project Coffee while attending an event nearby, and I’m so glad I stopped in. This Filipino-owned coffee shop quickly became one of my favorite spots in Virginia Beach. What makes it stand out are the incredible and unique flavors you won’t find anywhere else: ube, pandan, salted egg yolk, and more. The ube velvet has become my personal favorite—it’s sweet with a subtle chocolate undertone, almost like drinking a liquid cookie. I’ve found myself coming back every other day just to try different combinations. I was a little apprehensive about ordering the salted egg yolk latte, but I don’t know why—I ended up loving it. The flavor is surprisingly light and creamy. One of the things I appreciate most is that they offer faux lattes. I’m not a coffee drinker, so having these options means I can enjoy all the flavors without caffeine. Their cold foam toppings are another highlight—cheese, vanilla, pandan, and brown sugar are all delicious—and they pair beautifully with oat milk. The space itself is cozy, welcoming, and inviting. The staff are warm and friendly, and the prices are surprisingly affordable. On my last visit, I ordered an ube velvet faux latte with pandan foam and a salted egg yolk faux latte with brown sugar cold foam—both incredible. Hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Sunday, so I usually plan to visit on weekends. It’s absolutely worth working into my schedule. Project Coffee has quickly become a go-to spot for me, and I look forward to every visit. If you’re looking for something beyond your usual coffee order—or even if you don’t like coffee at all—this place is a gem.

Tried Project Seed Coffee for the first time and was impressed by their unique flavor offerings. We ordered the Buko Pandan Latte and the Ube Velvet Latte — both were standout drinks that really highlight the café’s creative take on traditional Filipino flavors. The Buko Pandan Latte was refreshing and subtly sweet, with the pandan giving it a fragrant, almost dessert-like finish. It felt like a comforting twist on a tropical treat, made even better with the creaminess of the milk and a hint of coconut. The Ube Velvet Latte was equally enjoyable — smooth, slightly earthy from the ube, and with just the right amount of sweetness. Visually, it’s stunning, and the flavor definitely matches the look. It’s a rich, cozy drink that’s perfect for anyone looking for something different from the usual coffee shop fare. The atmosphere of the café was welcoming and thoughtfully styled, with plenty of light and a relaxed vibe — perfect for hanging out or getting a bit of work done. Staff were friendly and helpful in explaining the drinks. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re looking to explore bold, unique drinks with a strong cultural twist.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a coffee drinker but my wife is. As well I have a personal relationship with owner/founder. I endeavor to be impartial but opinions may vary. Our morning trip out on opening day turned out to be a lovely outing. The location is the quaint Kemps Landing Manor building. On entering we found lively business and chatting customers in a cozy inviting space. My wife got both an Iced Mocha Latte and a Hot Pistachio Latte. I got an Iced Black Tea with an Allepo Corn Pepper Muffin. My wife was very approving of the coffee. Stating that the flavors were distinctive and delicious. The Iced Tea was mellow and tasty as well. The Corn Muffing was moist, slightly sweet with a bit of kick as the pepper shown through. Also available is ground Project Seed brand coffee to brew at home as well as apparel With all considered, if you are passing by Kemps Landing Manor, Project Seed Coffee is a much better place to spend your coffee dollars than the big chain outlets.

Fam, we ALL know how hard it is to find a good cup of coffee; well, the search is over! These folks are doing it up, but proper. The spot itself is bright, spacious, well lit, clean, fun, and friendly. The staff is friendly, engaging, helpful, and able to speak to customers in English, Spanish, and Tagalog. The pandan bagels with pandan cream cheese are delightful: the crust has just the right "al dente" feel, and the crumb is both springy and soft at once. The nuanced flavors of pandan move across the tongue in slow waves of savory and floral. The Ube Cold Brew is worth writing home about; smooth and rich with an ube finish, deeply purple, and softly scented. The Roasted Black Sesame Latte (flavor of the month, get it while you can) is rich and sumptuous, with delightful notes of sesame in the finish. The coffee itself is so fresh that you readily get the terroir in its flavor profile: notes of chocolate and cherry with a clean finish, bright without overburdening acidity, midbody mouthfeel, smooth silky texture. The pastries are fresh and of excellent quality. The savory pork buns were delicious, and the Spanish Bread with ube and cream cheese made my day. Local craftspersons also display and sell wares in this community oriented old-school coffee house. Please, come to this place and experience a wonderful group of people, fantastic coffee, great pastries, and local artisans. I can hardly wait to be a regular...
