"The worst hotel I have ever stayed in, -0 stars. The rooms are not cleaned if you stay for less than 14 days, the walls are dirty, the panel in the bathroom is cracked, cockroaches are running around the room, kitchen area and bed, they climb into the bed at night. One of the receptionists told me that cockroaches are everywhere. The mattress was uncomfortable (it is difficult to say how old it is), because of which my back hurts. I had to visit the doctor 4 times, and all visits had to be paid. And it was impossible to sleep on the pillows at all. There was no opportunity to relax and rest at night. One night, at 3 am, there was a scandal between a woman and a man for several hours. And I could not sleep until the morning. The Internet is very weak. The freezer in the refrigerator was frozen, the refrigerator was dirty. The door lock often did not close, I was nervous, since I had to leave the room during the day. I was offered by the manager to change the room, 3 days before my departure, because of a bad lock, it was ridiculous. But maybe only if I get to know other cockroaches. In the first days, I contacted the receptionists, explained all my problems. They listened to me politely, sometimes even recorded messages for the manager and that's all. But I even managed to talk to the manager. She said that the workers did not pass on my complaints to her. She was very attentive, wrote everything down and that was all too, no resolutions of my problems. I came to Virginia to relax, meet friends and think about the possibility of moving to Virginia. And so I booked a room for 10 days. But I had to change my plane tickets 3 days before the end of my stay at the hotel. The last time, on June 24, I spoke with the manager A'Ronda Gay and demanded a refund for 3 nights. I am 73 years old and I do not have extra money and I need to be in good health to live in the conditions of this hotel. Today is already July 6, 2025, and I still haven't received my money back for three nights. And for all the inconveniences I encountered in this hotel, WoodSpring Suites Virginia Beach administration should have paid me compensation. They count on people complaining, leaving and forgetting about everything and will not go to court. I tried to send several emails to the manager, it is impossible to contact a high-ranking representative of the administration of this hotel, no information on the website. I really hope that the hotel will refund my money, and I won't have to send a complaint to the sanitary service, the local newspaper and television."

My experience working as a housekeeper at WoodSpring Suites Virginia Beach was deeply disappointing due to poor management, lack of professionalism, unsanitary conditions, and serious security concerns. Today, I was abruptly fired today by my manager, Lakeisha, without any explanation. She simply told me to leave and drop my keycard at the front desk. There was no discussion, no reason given—just complete disregard for my time and effort. Throughout my employment, I witnessed and experienced unprofessional treatment toward myself and other employees. Lakeisha consistently belittled her staff, dismissing our concerns instead of addressing them professionally. She often resorted to cutting me off as if that was an acceptable way to speak to me. Not to mention walking off with an attitude. When outsiders were present, she would put on a fake, friendly persona to appear as a great manager. The contrast between how she acted in private versus in public made for a toxic and uncomfortable work environment. Beyond management issues, the hotel itself is in poor condition. The roach problem is out of control, creating an unsanitary environment for both employees and guests. Additionally, the hotel constantly lacks essential supplies—from linens to basic items needed for staff to do their jobs effectively. Housekeepers are having to re do bed due to old stained sheets. there are hardly any replacements in stock, making it difficult to finish rooms. Even more concerning is the lack of security. At one point, a random individual who was not a guest walked into the hotel, went to the stairwell, and engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior. This incident made housekeepers feel so unsafe that they had to lock themselves in rooms while cleaning. Situations like this should never happen in a workplace, especially in a hotel where guest and employee safety should be a top priority. I take pride in being professional and dedicated in any role I take on, and I did my best to maintain that standard while working at WoodSpring Suites. However, no employee deserves to be treated as if they are beneath their manager, especially by someone who refuses to foster a respectful and professional work environment. Between the lack of respect from management, unsanitary conditions, supply shortages, and security failures, I sincerely hope changes are made to improve conditions for future.

WARNING to future guests and corporate attention needed. If I could give zero stars, I would. I am appalled by my recent experience at this WoodSpring Suites location. I arrived with a confirmed, prepaid reservation—made through a reputable third-party site—only to find the hotel locked, with no staff on-site, and a handwritten sign on the door stating they were overbooked and could not accommodate guests. No prior notice. No email. No phone call. No effort whatsoever to notify us or help us find alternate accommodations. We attempted to contact the hotel throughout the day and evening, and no one ever answered the phone—a complete communication failure. As a result, my partner and I were forced to sleep in our car—on our anniversary night. This is not just poor service. This is a total failure of basic hospitality and human decency. To make matters worse, the refund promised in the sign never came. I had to contact the third-party booking site five days later, only to learn they still hadn’t received confirmation from this property—again, because no one is responding. The same silence we encountered at the door continues to this day. I am escalating this matter to WoodSpring Suites Corporate, and I fully expect both a refund and compensation for this disgraceful experience. This is the worst hospitality experience I’ve ever had. If a hotel is going to overbook, the least they can do is: Notify guests ahead of time. Provide alternate lodging. Answer the phone. Instead, we were stranded in a new city on a special night with nowhere to go. Corporate, do better. And to anyone reading this: stay somewhere else.
