Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

This isn’t the first time I’ve have an issue with my food, in fact it’s the THIRD time at this location. The first two didn’t seem worth the hassle because the reps were still friendly about it. This is the last time this location will get any money from my household. My boyfriend went in and ordered a Caribbean jerk wrap bowl. He didn’t want cheese but forgot to mention that. Since he was in the wrong he bought another bowl (no cheese specified this time) and was going to just give me the original. After he left the store he brings me the original bowl to my job which is 15min away. He realizes there cheese in the second bowl as well. So he takes the both back to show the employee who made it. At which they take the bowls to the back and then bring them back and hand them to him. He then orders me a smoothie to go along side my bowl. Brings my food back to my job AND ITS STILL WRONG!!! Mine now does not have cheese in it and his STILL has cheese pieces in it. I call back up to the location to speak to the manager. A rep answers and doesn’t announce who he is just that I’ve called Tropical smoothie. I ask to speak to a manager, he says he’s an assistant and he can help me. So I explain the situation which apparently he is aware of because he says he helped my boyfriend. So now I’m confused because an assistant manager can’t put together a bowl of food? Upon talking to the rep, he tells me I can hold on to the food and bring it to the manager and it would be at her discretion to fix the issues... tomorrow at 3pm! I’m baffled because that doesn’t solve my issue of not having food today! So I ask him why was there still cheese in my boyfriends food? (I’ll just ignore my own at this point. It’s whatever) The rep tells me that they didn’t remake the food, that’s not their policy. They just removed it from the top. I said so what if someone has an allergy and you just removed the Cheese, that’s messed up. He just said they don’t remake food. My smoothie was watered down as well. No apology or any form of regret for the waste of time and money here. Only that I could speak to someone tomorrow. I asked for his name and the managers name which is Avony (apologize if ive spelled it wrong) So thank you Tyler for doing absolutely nothing and not helping whatsoever. As a retail representative I try to be very understanding to certain situations and even the time of day. I account for high volumes of traffic at times and mornings where we may not be ourselves... but what I don’t like is for an assistant manager to make it seem like my time is not vaulable and I should just be satisfied with...

I just left this location. I ordered a Bahama mama with added oats and almonds and asked for it to be blended twice. The young man with dark short hair said yes, but please taste is before you leave. The manager who was very very rude to him (ponytail with blonde/faded pink hair) angrily made my smoothie. After she was done making my smoothie, the nice young man said “wait she wanted blended twice.” She again with the rudest attitude I’ve ever seen in a restaurant said “I put it on 2, I’m your boss I know what I’m doing.” I can’t believe she pulled a “Karen” attitude with this young man (no he’s not black, Karen’s don’t care who the person is) he simply was trying to please me the customer. I will take this to corporate because she belittled and was very rude to him in front of customers. This young man is someone and she absolutely did not deserve to talk to him this way. I’m sorry on his behalf he definitely deserves...

My team and I came here for lunch (4/15/22). The line was literally out the door. There was 1 guy mopping and 1 lady making drinks and acting as cashier. There was another young lady up there who was literally texting while the line was out the door. Our food was horrible and our smoothies tasted like water. We literally wasted $58 in there and the service/ food & drinks were unacceptable. While there 2 people who were in line walked out shaking their head because they couldn't order simply because the staff person had an important text that she was tending too. Not only that but once she stopped texting, she began filling smoothie cups and wiped the sides of them with a dirty dish cloth! Absolutely gross and unacceptable! We had to dispose of our food.
