Let me start off by saying that I have been here a total of 5 times now. I have always had excellent food and decent service, especially one time when they were extremely busy and brought me and my husband a little sushi platter to eat from while we waited for our food. We have also purchased a few Groupons for this place and used them with no issues. Last night we brought in a party of 9 to eat and told the waitress at the start the way our checks would be divided. We were given a massive plate of sushi to eat and treated very nicely. My husband got his sushi order though and it wasn't right. He ordered a Super Volcano and got a Super Duper instead... after 5 minutes of back and forth, the waitress came back and told us that it was in fact a Super Duper roll and sort of stood there. He said he wanted what he ordered and the waitress looked flustered, but his food came out eventually. The problem came when we went to pay. We handed the waitress our $20 Groupon and again reminded her that me and my husband were on one ticket. She said we couldn't use the Groupon. I asked why and could not understand her reasons as honestly, she barely spoke English. My husband tried to talk to her but he is English and his accent was making it even worse. She mentioned something about a $40 Groupon for the table? I have no idea. She called the manager over and he said that we could not use the Groupon, as they have to pay rent and they make no money when people use them. I said that is not my problem, I already paid for the Groupon and other people at our table were also trying to reason with them and understand the problem! He then told me that he had seen me in there before and told me the same thing (from what I could gather, we were with a large group then too). Again, I have no idea what he is talking about because the last time I was in there was in December/January, with my parents, and we used a Groupon then as well on one single check with no problems. After much debate, they gave us the $20 discount. Now, we have spent a lot of money at this restaurant and on this particular night, brought SEVEN other people in to spend money with them and they gave us the biggest hassle. It was extremely rude of the manager to talk about having to pay rent and such, that is not my problem! You shouldn't have signed up for the Groupon program then. I am really appalled at how we were treated for how many times we've been in, and how much business we brought them just that night alone. After that point we discovered that one of the people at our table hadn't even gotten all of the food from his bento box. I am really disappointed and sad to say that we will not be going back to this restaurant. As good as the food is, I don't appreciate a manager trying to make me feel guilty for using a coupon that I paid for, and to sit there and complain at me when I've just brought you all of this business. My husband and I didn't even share a dinner box, we EACH got one so as to not be jerks in using...

Volcano Sushi Bar exceeded our expectations from start to finish. If you're a fan of bold flavors and fresh, high-quality sushi, this place should definitely be on your list.
We ordered an assortment of spicy rolls and were thoroughly impressed with each one. The Spicy Yellowtail, Spicy Tuna, Spicy Shrimp Tempura, Spicy Shrimp, and Spicy Salmon rolls were all perfectly balanced — just the right level of heat without overpowering the fresh fish. Every roll was beautifully presented, tightly rolled, and packed with flavor. The fish tasted incredibly fresh, and the textures of the tempura and rice were spot-on.
To start, we had both the miso soup and house salad — both of which were excellent. The soup was rich and comforting, and the salad came with a ginger dressing that was tangy and refreshing.
The service was friendly, attentive, and quick without feeling rushed. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, making it a great spot for a casual lunch or dinner out. You can tell that a lot of care goes into both the food and the customer experience here.
Highly recommend Volcano Sushi Bar to anyone who appreciates high-quality sushi and great service. We’ll...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer for over 20 years, and absolutely love everything I’ve ever had here. The only thing that reduced my visits from weekly to once or twice a year, is over the past couple of years they have priced me out the door. Judging by the fact they stayed crowded for years to being nearly empty every time I go now, I feel like I’m not the only one put off by the prices. The bento box is good, but the value at that price point just isn’t there.
Thank you for your response. I’ve been in this industry my whole life, so I understand. But your prices have increased 62% in a few years. That heavily outpaces inflation and increases in supply costs, which has been less than half that.
Being a small business doesn’t change anything, unless for some reason you’re supplying yourself through grocers instead of vendors. If that’s the case, you should have kept your focus on this original location instead of expansion.
Tony had a great thing going when he first opened this place years ago, and I had my whole family and crew eating here regularly for years, but the price increases have made me stop recommending it. It’s too much, and even places like Wegman’s are putting out a similar quality product for much...
