Zero's Subs - Birchwood — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

This was my first tirme buying food at this location. I hadn't been to a Zero's in a good many years because they moved from my neighborhood. I was meeting a friend there to take food to another friend's home nearby. The person i was with placed her order for 2 sub combos and I placed my order right afterwards at 11:29 a.m. on October 18. She got her order quickly. I waited 17 minutes for my simple order of a plain cheese steak with only crushed peppers and light on the oil. Granted other folks started trickling in to place orders. Two days later I sent a message to that establishment and have not yet received a response. I also sent a message to the corporate location in Chesapeake on Tuesday and Thursday and no response. I can say that the sub was tasty and I was looking forward to visiting another location in the future; however this soured me for any future contact with any Zero's Through the years before they relocated from my neighborhood, my husband would always surprise me with a sub from Zero's. I guess customer service for those working minimum wage or less is...

This bums me to do but the past 2 times I came here it was bad experiences. Last time my order was wrong (they forgot all of the add ons that I paid extra for on my sub). This time I ordered and when I arrived to pick up my food they told me their credit card machine was down. They said they were working on it and told me I could run to the Food Lion to get cash to pay now (as my food was already made). I told them I wasn't going to do that and asked if they thought it would be back up and they said maybe 5-10 minutes because they were on the phone about it now. Waited for about 15 min and had to ask about it and they said it wasn't going to come back up. They could have at least told me after 10 min instead of letting me sit there. So wasted my time and left...

All I gotta say is I love a good hot sub. Hard to find places with handmade subs with hot warm dishes. Cold subs are alright but they have quite a selection.

Now fair warning you'll have to get past the look it reminds me of your cool uncle's basement in the 70s w/sports mementos, a pinball machine, foosball table, and the good ol wood paneling.

Let that not deter you from enjoying a good sit down meal. The sub was served to us with fries. They were warm and reminded me of school fries. They have fountain and case drinks. They bring the food to you if you dine inside.
