Throughout the past few years, whenever we want to celebrate something, whenever we’ve had a bad day, whenever we’re craving a treat, we ask each other, “Wanna go to Bruster’s?” Bruster’s has become synonymous with reward in our household, and here’s why. My husband and I almost always order the same comforting treats: two heaping scoops of the Oreo cookies and cream ice cream in a waffle cone for him, and a fully loaded hot fudge mint chocolate chip sundae, topped with whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles, for me. My husband describes the Oreo ice cream as “exactly how you envision it tasting, creamy, with strong vanilla notes, and both bits and pieces of Oreos as well as almost full-sized cookies.”
The rich creaminess of the mint chocolate chip ice cream, coupled with the refreshing mint flavor and scent, take me back to simpler days of eating mint chocolate chip ice cream cones. The chocolate chips provide a burst of chocolate as well as a pleasing crunchy texture. Nowadays, I prefer a sundae, because some days I’m just looking for a party when I have dessert.
Each time we visit Bruster’s, we go through the drive thru, which is fast, convenient, and efficient, as we are always greeted and served promptly. Be sure to sign up for the Bruster’s Rewards program, which is an app on your phone that they scan for you each visit. When you have hit your rewards goal, you will receive a $5 off coupon for your next visit. Also, they have offered coupons for $1 off your order, in paper form, that we kept in our glove box. Spacious seating around patio tables and ample parking provide a few options for enjoying your frozen treats right away, but there’s no indoor dining. The servings are very generous, and we enjoy getting out of the house, so we haven’t had the occasion to buy their packaged ice cream yet, but we’ve talked about it. We can’t find anything in the grocery store we enjoy as much as Bruster’s...
Read moreBruster's is Fantastic. I would recommend the ice cream here for sure.
Bruster's Real Ice Cream is a chain of ice cream parlors primarily located in the United States. The company was founded in 1989 by Bruce Reed in Bridgewater, Pennsylvania. It started as a family-owned business with the goal of serving high-quality, handcrafted ice cream made fresh in each store. Bruster's emphasizes using fresh ingredients and traditional recipes to create a wide variety of flavors.
Over the years, Bruster's has grown and expanded its presence, with franchise locations across several states. While I don't have specific information about the Staples Mill Road location in Virginia, it's likely that it follows the same principles as other Bruster's stores.
Bruster's offers a diverse selection of ice cream flavors, including classics like chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry, as well as unique options like cake batter, cotton candy, and seasonal flavors. They also provide various frozen treats such as sundaes, shakes, and ice cream cakes. Each location typically has a welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere, making it a popular destination for ice cream lovers of all ages.
If you're interested in learning more about the Bruster's ice cream shop on Staples Mill Road, I recommend reaching out to the specific location directly or checking their website or social media accounts for more...
Read moreI walked up to your location and saw a group of three people off to the side, still looking at the menu. As I got closer, they moved to the window and began ordering, though it was clear they were still unsure about what they wanted.
While I stood there, visibly waiting to place my own order, an associate or supervisor came over and locked the second service window. They then began working on a sign instead of assisting. At the same time, three other employees were cleaning nearby, one team member was assisting the group at the window, and another was working the drive-thru—which had no customers at the time.
As someone with management experience—and simply as a paying customer—I saw a clear opportunity to make another sale and improve the flow of service. The supervisor should have recognized that chance and opened the second window, especially since the first group wasn’t ready when I arrived. On top of that, it was obvious that it was about to rain.
Instead, I was completely ignored.
After standing there for about four minutes with no acknowledgment, my son sat down. Before he even had a full 30 seconds in the seat, I decided we were leaving. I wasn’t going to continue standing there being overlooked while the weather turned. I chose to take my business elsewhere.
I’m sharing this experience because it was a clear opportunity lost due to a lack of basic...
