I was really pleasantly surprised today. I was craving Chinese food, and the ratings were still consistently the best in the area, so I downloaded the app and ordered. Today I got the veggie spring rolls, sweet and sour chicken, crab rangoon, lo mein, and fried rice. Everything was delicious, and the portions were generous. I love the fact that they dont serve pork and use white meat chicken. When I got there, they were super super overwhelmed, and there was a 45min-to an hour wait for pick up. There was a lady in the front working the front of the house, and was trying to cook, she was really nice and I felt so bad for her. There was only 2 other staff members there, and only one was helping. They had a huge stack of orders to prepare, and were trying really hard to get caught up. The phone rang nonstop as well. There was a wait for my food, but they had a bunch of cool books from the annual Shen yu show that me and my daughter were looking at, and a comfy couch. The food was definitely worth the wait, and the staff were really sweet and trying hard. They also have all of the sauces out, and you can take as much as you want. Most places give you like 2 packets, if any at all. You can also see everything going on in the kitchen, there is no wall dividing the waiting area from the kitchen. Most places hide the kitchen. The kitchen was spotless and the food prep was very sanitary. This was definitely the best Chinese food in the area. I hope they can get a bigger staff to help out. My only issue is the app wouldn't let me apply the coupon for a free soup with a $15 purchase. They were extremely busy, so I didn't want to press the issue, but I'm sure if I asked they would have helped. The prices are really reasonable anyways. This is my new go to spot in NOVA for...
Read moreJust had someone close to me decide to try this restaurant for the first time. Normally we order from Top China in Dale City (being going here for years) but wanted something closer and new. He went over after checking the area and headed over for lunch. After he got home with the food, he found something in the lo mein and chicken he ordered. Whatever it was, was not edible and made him throw up for about 30 mins. The further I looked into it looked like a burnt insect or worse, looking at it had me gagging. I called the restaurant and spoke to “Jay” who said he was the manager and once I explained to him the situation he said he didn’t know what I was talking about. I told him we would be over so he could see for himself. I live about less then 10 mins away. Upon getting there (with the unidentified piece of whatever) “Jay” was on register. I explained I was the one he was just speaking with over the phone and showed him what I was taking about. He immediately got defensive and said they don’t put anything like that in their food because it’s an open kitchen and had the audacity to say that we put it there ourselves. He said there was nothing he could do because we didn’t have the rest of the food with us. For being the manager “Jay” didn’t know how to deal with the situation and hope the owner retrains him on his position or gets someone who can better deal with customers. I would highly recommend you think twice before ordering from here or if you do already check your...
Read moreI never leave reviews haha. This is actually my first time EVER. Honestly, I have only had the fried chicken here (which is Edible Awesomeness). However, I have a great feeling that everything here is going to be amazing just by reading reviews and following my senses. I will be trying just about everything on the menu here. I know I will not be let down. The owners are kind, friendly, and I can tell they genuinely care about their restaurant. You know when you just have that instinct about a place and this is one of them. I saw one review which stated they waited for a while, but that just shows you they are putting their hearts into each order, providing guest with high quality cuisine and it shows trust me! Their menu even states for certain items it is made fresh for each order or has to be cooked for 30 minutes (bourbon chicken). Anyways, I don't think I will be ordering from any other Japanese/Chinese place in Woodbridge, VA ever again; they have everything I ever order. CHIYOSHI has my undivided attention! Highly...
