BEWARE OF THIS COMPLEX! -Long Review, but do read ALL negative comments on this place as they are unfortunately true. Oh, and know that the office is always locked and you have to be buzzed in.
Let me start this review by mentioning that the folks living in the complex are amazing! Lots of families and very friendly to get to know.
I was excited to be moving into Woodbridge Station Apartments. I thought I had found a residence that was cost effective, had what I needed space wise, and the office staff made it seem like they took complaints and issues seriously when I was being toured. Unfortunately, it would become all too clear that was a lie! Prior to moving in, I saw on the resident's portal that residents were complaining that cars were constantly being broken into, kids would bang on doors and windows, and maintenance was not actually responding to issues. There were other safety concerns. When I went in two weeks prior to moving in to sign some community rules page as "orientation" (could have been an email), I noted these concerns to Xiomara who was handling my move in and documents. She would cut me off while talking and make excuses. For safety, she noted they only have one security car for such a large complex. I questioned that they only had one security guard and she noted they had two, but only one car so they can't be in multiple places at once. For the kids and issues with those behaviors, she noted that security is on site from 4pm until early morning since that is when kids come home from school. However, security would be at the main office during those early evening hours and did little from what I witnessed. For maintenance, she claimed they were having some high turn over in staffing and working on it. I told her there was a complaint of a resident where a ticket was closed as repaired when someone never went to the unit. She claimed that sometimes they will go in, not find an issue, close the ticket and the resident will have to open the ticket again--problem being that I pointed out it was from a resident who worked from home and maintenance never went into the unit and marked a ticket closed without actually looking. She then claimed their phone was down for a little bit and that the office would get their calls, but would be too busy sometimes to send the calls to maintenance. I told her these items needed serious addressing especially before I moved in as I wouldn't tolerate those types of issues as a tenant. She told me (again, this is two weeks before my move in) that maintenance was in my unit that week working and she would make sure all issues in my unit would be done before I arrived.
On move-in day, I showed up 40 minutes later than I told the complex that I would be arriving. When I arrived, Xiomara told me I would have an additional 20 minute wait due to several excuses that didn't make sense. My wait in the office was about 1 hour from my arrival before Xiomara called the cleaning crew and told them I was still sitting there and that she needed the keys back. Before I headed to the unit, Xiomara mentioned some large scratches on the hardwood floors that she told me I needed to notate or get charged for later. Then I got to the apartment.
The kitchen cabinets were all sticky, the top and sides of the fridge had some yellowing, there was a yellow/brown goo/dirt around the buttons of the dishwasher, the floors looked like they had dirty water pushed around them, the walls were not painted based on the holes and smudges/cover ups that were throughout the unit, there were multiple scratches and dings throughout the walls and floors, and the bathtub was disgusting and gray. Over the time there, the thin floors shook and creaked with even the lightest walking, neighbors blasted music battling each other, kids stole packages and tore them apart throughout the complex, maintenance was unresponsive or timely, and the office offered only excuses and instead of fixing the problems said, "Sorry for the inconvenience:". I used the 30-day out clause in the contract and...

What follows is a complaint i submitted to the BBB:Apartment is not providing adequate cooling to their residents on these extremely hot days. The A/C has been an issue upon our moving in on May 18, 2015. Despite the extreme temperatures, we are told to expect that it is "normal" for it to be at 80 degrees (and in some cases above 80) in our apartment. We are repeatedly told that "based on their tools that the A/C unit is working fine". We have called the maintenance crew out here multiple times to address this issue for us. Our Thermostat consistently reads any where from 5-7 degrees higher than where we set it, which is not problematic unless on extremely hot days such as today. Regardless of the dangers of the heat, and the inconsistency between where the thermostat is set and what it is actually producing, Woodbridge Station Apartments claims that their unit is functioning fine. Yesterday, we came home and it was 82 degrees in our apartment. You can imagine this was quite problematic for my family (my children are aged 6, 4, and 2). My Middle son has asthma and youngest son just had IV antibiotics and fluids last week from an illness. This is not simply a "comfort" issue for us, it is a health issue as well.
It did not get below 80 degrees in our apartment until 11 pm last night. Today it is already at 76, I have called maintenance out to check for problems and other than changing the filter, state there is no observable problem, despite the fact that whole typing the thermostat is now reading 77 degrees when it is set to 71.
I am also limited to my use of the kitchen during these extreme heat days, as I cannot do anything to further introduce heat into the apartment. Please keep in mind, they keep their office staff comfortable at 72 degrees, yet find it acceptable for their residents to reside in temperatures that exceed 80 degrees and do nothing to remedy the long standing problem. We are being charged rent for an apartment that is rendered useless on hot days, as we have to leave our residence to find cooler temperatures.
The technicians who have been to our unit have informed us that the Apartments are in contract negotiations for replacing the A/C units, and they acknowledged that the units are old and in a state of less than stellar performance. However, since our A/C does cool down to within an acceptable range at night, Woodbridge Station claims the unit is working and therefore they will not replace the unit. Disregarding the fact that the unit has never produced adequate air to meet where it has been set.
Until this most recent incident, in which it was 82 degrees in our apartment, we were content to continue out our contractual obligation, however at this point, due to my health issues and my children's we do not feel contractually obligated to honor the agreement, unless a new A/C unit is established for our residence. It took multiple calls to upper management in both the leasing office and maintenance to discover collapsed ducts above our apartment, after which we were told the A/C should function "normally." Prior to these calls we were told by the technicians who came to our apartment that "this was normal 3rd floor life."
We have yet to experience a fully functional a/c unit, our unit has never cooled within the desired 69-72 degree range unless on a notably cooler day for Summer. Which is fine when there isn't a 105 degree heat index. At 9 pm this evening it was 79 degrees in our apartment, my children only wear their underwear to keep cool and fall asleep sweating, despite the inspection yesterday afternoon in which I was told that our A/C unit is functioning fine.
This is an apartment complex that is attempting to pass the property off as luxury apartments, yet it lacks the concern, care and respect for its residents that accompanies luxury...
Read moreWouldn't move back to this place if it was the last apartment Complex on earth. I originally moved in because of the amenities they provided. Which would soon change. The rent is extremely high for apartments that need to be renovated all together. And the apartments that are renovated are even higher. Maintenance is nice, depending on who you get to service your apartment, you might get someone who will complete the job, or someone who is going to half way fix the issues and then your going to have to put in multiple tickets for the same thing afterwards. I had thought about renewing my lease only because I hate packing and moving, but upon renewal they sent a letter and my rent was increasing $100 per month. When I called and asked why the rent was increasing so high, they said because they managing company wanted everyone to be around the same amount in rental fees and that they were doing all this work, like repaving the parking lot, they added storage units, an outside gym (if that's what you wanna call it) and were supposedly adding other things. My upstairs neighbors were always walking so heavily over top of us at all hours of the day and night. The neighbors across from me were nasty, always leaving trash outside of their door (against the rules, supposedly) and that brought on all types of little rodents. I called and told them that the light in the hallway outside was out, which was kind of a safety issue because at night anyone could be outside your door and you wouldn't have a clue because you couldn't see. You think it was fixed? No, even when I moved out it was still not fixed. Upon move out they charged me with this ridiculous fee for the carpet and some blinds. I can agree with the carpet in 2 of the rooms and the blinds, I could have replaced the blinds myself, but I didn't feel like it. So I chose the route to be overcharged for some cheap blinds. The other charges were bogus as hell. I continuously had a leak from my washer that damaged a section of the carpet in the hallway, they said they could just cut out the damaged part and replace it, but when it was time for me to move, the SMALL spots that were on the section of carpets, they told me they had to replace the entire carpet. How does that work? I find that hilarious. I was warned by previous tenants about this property, but it was in a convenient location, and there are not too many complex's that have 4 bedrooms in which is what I needed. My interactions with the staff were always pleasant. Anthony was great! Always professional, and easy to talk to about issues in my apartment, and was very down to earth. Daniel was cool too, and always professional. To each is own, and everyone's experience is different, but its a strong NO for me, with...
