Tacos Moya — Restaurant in Virginia

-Food was ok -Service was poor # servicio fue muy malo ALL the interaction was in SPANISH # Español -MUST READ - LEANLO TODO

Here is what I experienced on my first visit: On September 13th 2021 at around 4 PM I visited Ricos Tacos Moya. When I arrived there was no host so I came in and went had to ask for a menu then choose a seat myself ( maybe I should have known that it was a self seating place but it was my first time there) so I approach the someone who appeared to be the host/hostess, asked for a menu and then seat myself. When server came I asked about the happy hour beer and she seemed confused (there was a huge happy hour sign on the back wall) , -I specifically asked for it because I did not want to get charged more later by ordering something outside the happy hour specials- Finally, I ordered my drink and food I was brought chips and salsa, when chips and salsa came I asked the waitress if I could have some hot salsa to which she acknowledged but my spicy salsa never arrived, I was waiting to kill my chips with spicy salsa and ended up having them whit what she originally brought. Then when food arrived my 4 tacos came with one tiny 2oz container of green salsa (half way full/empty), to which I asked the waitress if I could have another varieties of salsas, more spicy ones , red salsa etc., By the way, I do not know of any authentic MEXICAN restaurant that only has/serves one type of salsa. To my surprise the waitress seemed perplexed to which she pointed at the tiny green salsa she gave me and she said that was it . So I had to rephrase the question so she finally brought me red salsa.

But the worst thing had not happened yet... It was not until I asked for the check that I saw I was overcharged on two of the 4 tacos ordered , the menu clearly said each cost $2.99 or simply under $3.00 and I was charged $3.50 instead. At that point I did not have the menu so I simply paid. But before leaving I asked for the menu again to verify prices and to my surprise the menu had handwritten new price on a white piece of paper (as shown on picture) ... at that point I brought it up to the waitress' attention and she acknowledged that some of the menus did not have the right price but rather than offering to fix it or offering an apology, she simply said that and walked away. So I then approached someone else and asked to speak to the manager, when the manager came I described to her what happened and she did not offer to fix my check nor apologized, until I told her that was not ok and I needed my refund. I tried to make a point asking her how she felt that was done to her but it went over her head. I think that it is very important to train people no matter where people work, especially managers so they are able to solve some issues as such. I am upset at myself for not taking a picture of the ORIGINAL PRICES but I wish I did.

Unfortunately for their business, I am not planning to go back to that restaurant since it left a bad taste in my mouth -pun...

I have to admit this is one the best Mexican restaurants in the DMV by far it has been a wonderful experience without exception. You must come here and try the food the service was great as well, this place is clean and organized they are very family oriented and the owners who are here like to great customers them selves and get their opinions for anything that you can improve or request upon them. This is great because they can improve on a lot of things here for us the consumers. At least you must give it a try one before you make and comments I come here from 2 hours away. And I enjoy their food always with out exception. Thank you!

Tengo que admitir que este es uno de los mejores restaurantes mexicanos en el DMV, con mucho, ha sido una experiencia maravillosa sin excepción. Debes venir aquí y probar la comida, el servicio también fue excelente, este lugar está limpio y organizado, están muy orientados a la familia y los propietarios que están aquí les gustan a los grandes clientes y obtienen sus opiniones sobre cualquier cosa que puedas mejorar o solicitar sobre ellos. Esto es genial porque pueden mejorar muchas cosas aquí para nosotros, los consumidores. Al menos debes probarlo antes de hacerlos y comentar que vengo aquí desde hace 2 horas. Y disfruto su comida siempre sin...

Yesterday night I go out to have drinks and have a good time this place puts karaoke 🎤 and I was having a drink and singing karaoke and having a good time laughing and singing and when I tell the bartender who was helping my if I can have a blue motorcycle she stated that the drink I was drinking was strong I told her I’m fine and that I wanted a blue motorcycle and she was like that’s a very strong drink I can only sell you one witch one would you like blue motorcycle or the one I currently was drinking … I said the one I was drinking … like what kind of bartending service is that ? NEVER in the years that I’ve drink experience anything like that before ….. like I’m going out and paying for a good time if I ask for what ever kind of drinks I should get it without an issue. So I decided to take a picture because I felt disrespected and not welcoming. This is terrible service from this bartender specifically if you go here please try to avoid her. And she’s lucky I tipped her something because I wasn’t going to tip her anything for disrespecting me after I did nothing but be nice and ask for another drink! (PLEASE AVIOD THIS GIRL) She’s needs to be fired like immediately.! Terrible terrible...
