Visited Todos for the first time yesterday. "Wow!" was my first reaction. Talk about an adventure in grocery shopping...Starting with the produce section, I saw varieties of vegetables, fruit, etc. that you'll never see in a typical American grocery. Since I grew up in South America, many of the veggies and fruits were not new to me, but others I would have to research to learn how to use them. I was impressed by the entire aisle full of spice options (not to forget the fresh versions of "exotic" herbs in the produce section) that put any spice selection in an American grocery to shame. Additional spice, herb and extracts could be found in other sections of the store. The selection of different kinds of dried beans, corn, etc. took up most of another aisle, some of which I've never heard of. And then there were the aisles and multiple displays throughout the store featuring a huge selection of baked treats, breads, cookies. The in-house bakery offered even more fresh goodies, many that you would need to go into an old-fashioned bakery to find. There were so many products that your average American shoppers wouldn't recognize (though many typical products available in your American grocery were also available. ) I didn't explore the meat or seafood offerings, though I saw options that were varied and again, I would probably have to look up how to prepare them. While I didn't find the salad mix I was looking for-- the ones in the store were not in good shape, something I've noted lately in most stores I've been in-- I did buy a couple of products to try. I picked up some Tostada de Pasankalla from Bolivia -- basically huge 1-inch puffs of roasted yellow corn with a hint of a sugar glaze, and some Canela (cinnamon) biscuits from Mexico, similar to Nabisco Social Tea biscuits. Both rated a "Yum," and I'd definitely buy them again. I noted a selection of gorgeous pomegranates that were from Paraguay in the produce section too. I was tempted, but have to finish what I have at home before getting more. I thought some of the prices were higher than what I've found in Latino groceries before, but that is probably the result of...
Read moreOn Tuesday Christmas eve I bought a lot of meat to grill cuz I had a bunch of family coming over on Christmas day so I put all the meat in the refrigerator for next day, on Christmas day when I took the meat out of the refrigerator I noticed that the fajita was dark and smelly so I decided not to cook it, I grilled all the other meat that I got and wait till I get some time to return it , well I couldn't return it until Friday, the tag on the meat said it was good to sale by 12/29 but when I got to todos market I encountered an unfriendly staff, instead of just being an easy exchange they started accusing me of not putting the meat in the refrigerator and they weren't going to give me my money back , I felt bad not just because the money I thought that as a latino community that we were better than that, if I would have went to any other grocery store they would have just gave me my money back no questions asked , but I guess they prefer for customers to eat their spoiled food and get...
Read moreI went to this supermarket as I received a gift card from a friend. They had many different air fresheners which I haven’t seen at other stores. So I bought quite a bit. At the register, 2 register clerks were talking. I can tell that it was a personal conversation. When I approached the check out counter, they continued to talk even though I was ready to check out. I wasn’t attended until I got her attention. One air freshener was on sale for $1.99 while the regular price was $3.99. She rang it as a regular price even though the red sale tag of $1.99 was clearly marked. I brought it up to her attention but instead of apologizing to me, she murmured n called her supervisor for override. The whole time she was giving me a mean look as if I did something bad to her. I think this store needs to train the staff what customer service is all about. After all she was the one who made a mistake. She shouldn’t be...
