A truly awful experience. We went in asking for a table of 6, when two of our members were late they snatched the table from us and I a grown woman was left sitting in a baby high chair, or standing. 0 stars if possible.
**edit after response: totally understandable for a restaurant to be out of table/overwhelmed with service especially on THEIR busy day of the year as hopefully we can all relate to having days where we’re packed maybe not to the cinco de mayo - cinco de mayo level. But, even still there was not a line out the door when we arrived (or left), and the attitude and disregard from service was uncalled for. As paying customers, you would assume to have a chair (whether you were the late member or not), that’s just service and they assumed they could place that many people when the person RESERVED that many people. So, it was the overall experience. Totally trying to understand restaurant service, as I have worked in it, but this was just rude and inconsiderate (even for your busiest day of the year). So, for our group, we will be finding other service for any hispanic food need (cinco de mayo or not). Thank you for the lesson and experience though, we always knew there was a rude service staff or two but were willing to accommodate them until today. We hope you do well, but it was bad by us! Just an opinion, good hospitality is alway...
Read moreVery, very impressed! We were drawn to this restaurant for the buffet option. My husband and I have never encountered a Mexican food buffet and were curious to try it. We were not disappointed. The buffet had lots of options and dishes were stirred and replenished frequently. A few of the items that stuck out the most were the rice, taco salad shells, wings and desserts. The rice was hot and yet remained moist without being mushy or sticky. The taco salad shells were obviously house made not mass produced. They were light and crispy without a super oily texture. The chicken wings would be great at any football game or gathering. Juicy and well seasoned, they had flavor first with a slow burn afterwards so you could really enjoy them. Now to the desserts. Warm, pillowy churros in cinnamon sugar and creamy flan with a beautiful vanilla bean flavor. I would come here for the desserts alone!! All of this for $10.99 a person is a steal and a half. My husband and I had iced tea so the bill after a good tip was $34. I gave our waiter a good tip because he was super attentive even on a busy Sunday post-church lunch time. Our glasses never got below half full and my husband guzzles liquids like a fish. We will definitely be back again. Great...
Read moreWent there because the Hardees next door was drive thru only so we decided to go next door to Cinco De Mayo.
Ordered two Lunch Special Number 2 which was (supposed to be) a chile relleno, taco, refried beans and guacamole salad.
Working backwards; the guacamole salad was just shredded iceberg lettuce with a blob of guacamole on top and a slice of tomato, the refried beans were dotted with pools of oil, the taco was just ground beef with no seasoning and some shredded cheese.
Now all that was fairly underwhelming but the chile relleno, that was disappointing.
For anyone that doesn't know what a chile relleno is supposed to be it's a chile pepper, usually an Anaheim or other long blocky pepper, stuffed with cheese and meat and then baked with more cheese on top.
Not this time.
What we both got was a quarter of a green bell pepper with a meatball on top. Not even an entire pepper, not stuffed, not acceptable. No 'Mexican' flavor at all it just tasted like a cheeseburger ball on a pepper slice.
The iced tea was good. 🤷♂️
$7.50 per meal plus $2.25 per drink, we paid $24 with...
