Toscana Restorante Italiano & Pizza — Restaurant in Virginia

I love the opportunity to write a review like the one I'm going to write now. I went to Toscana for the first time last night to celebrate a birthday, and the 80yo birthday girl chose this restaurant for her celebration. Everything about the night was perfect! We all had a wide variety of choices, and everyone agreed that their meal was perfect. Starting off, I was amazed at the complimentary garlic knots that came with the salad. When you go, please note that the garlic knots are freshly baked without preservatives, and they will start to become stale after about 10-15 minutes sitting on the table. These are not frozen and reheated. I won't go through each main course, but summarize by noting that the linguini with clam sauce included clams in their actual shells. Everything was perfect.

OK, the food was the best part of the experience. In a very close second place was Ericka, our server. She hit that amazing sweet spot between professional and friendly/cheeky that is so rare to find, and a wonderful experience when you do. She was the consummate professional, but huge fun and her involvement in our celebration made it a million times better. I did not leave the tip, but I hope she got a HUGE one because it was well deserved.

Finally, I will have to agree with the other comments about the ambiance and decor. Toscana is immaculately clean, but it the decor is more appropriate for a strip mall sub shop. I completely understand that the restaurant business is very risky, and costs are always a concern. The quality of the food foremost, but also the professionalism of the staff, really deserve a restaurant environment that is equal to the otherwise very high standards.

This was my family's 4th visit here we love the food & Usually service is good However this time The server took our order we were just getting apps while out shopping we ordered 2 orders of wings onion rings a salad garlic knots and fried zucchini when the server brought our food out she placed a basket of fries on the table I stated to her that we didn't order fries she was very Rude and Told Me Yes You Did (I Was Shocked) I then said I didn't and that I didn't want them she left and another server finished bringing our food out she reappeared with the check at the end. I'm A Chef and That was Poor customer Service the proper thing to do would have been to apologize and see if there was anything else she could get us Anyway Needless to say her $20 Tip turned into the leftover change which was around $6 & some change Probably won't be going back 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️ Too bad because the food was decent but...

Don’t waste you time or money. Not as upscale as the sister restaurant. Looked more like card table and chairs. My daughter had outside cold air blowing on her from the window next to her that the weather stripping had come off. My crostini had green mold on it. My husband showed the server and she took it and she never mentioned it again. The ravioli was under cooked, more than aldente. My daughter’s shrimp Alfredo had zero flavor other than a large amount of olive oil. They finally took the appetizer off the bill after my husband said he wasn’t paying for moldy bread. $120 dollars later, we went to Dairy Queen afterwards and had...
