A Tale of My Trip to Cocky Rooster

Dear Cocky Rooster, oh what a trip! To Short Pump, I took a little dip. But oh, what a sight, what a sorry show, At your place where the cocky roosters crow!

The floors were sticky, the tables a mess, Bathrooms unclean, I must confess. Windows were foggy, tablets all grime, It's like cleaning was a forgotten rhyme.

In the lobby, oh what a scene, Dirt caked on, it was quite obscene. Dusty vents above, where I placed my request, Not the best spot for dirt to rest.

I tipped my hat, but here's the twist, I had to clean my own table, oh what a miss! Collecting my food, bussing my own way, At Cocky Rooster, it's how I spent my day.

The soft drink machine, it had its strife, No soda bubbles, it was out of life. Bottled drinks, an upgrade they claimed, But it left me feeling a little maimed.

Peeking through the window, what did I see? Folded linen on the floor, oh me, oh my! Hand wash sink blocked, employees unaware, Hygiene and safety, they should all take care.

Mop bucket and cookware, in the same sink? Oh, Cocky Rooster, it made me think. Cleanliness and order, they've gone astray, A place where I used to dine, week by week.

Though the service was friendly, the food so fine, Cocky Rooster, you used to shine. But now I wonder, is it the same place? Or has it lost its once-charming grace?

Dear Cocky Rooster, hear my plea, Restore the shine, bring back the glee. Clean it up, make it grand, So I can once again be a loyal fan.

This is a preliminary review. While I realize this location is fairly new, I'm taking that into consideration and will post ate an updated review after a repeated visit. My wife and I ordered food from here on New years Eve to try a new wing place. We had heard good things about this place and we're looking forward to it. Ordered online for pickup. When I got to the location, I was ignored by the young lady behind the counter for a good 5 minutes before she finally actually acknowledged my presence. She then told me it would be another 10 minutes. As this is a small building, and pandemic cases are rising, I liked it to wait outside. During this time, I noticed another person come up and purposely Park in the handicap parking space simply so they could not have to park far away while they did their pickup. When I got back inside, again I was ignored for about 5 minutes before someone finally acknowledged my presence and gave me my food. When we got home, the food was a little cold. The sauces were good and the chicken was cooked well. Definitely portion sizes went with the price of the menu and I can't complain about that. I am willing to give this place another chance, and really what brought it down to two out of five stars was the customer service...

We went to try it out on 8-3-25, as we haven't been here before. First honest impression, not great.... loud music, tables were greasy/dirty, trash cans were full and overflowing, and the computer interface to place an order was NOT user friendly. The 1st fellow that tried to help us spoke so quietly, with the loud music, we couldn't understand him. After struggling with the tablet for 15 minutes, and thinking we finally got it correct, the 6 of us placed our order. In about 10 minutes (they weren't very busy) Trevor begins to bring out our orders. The food was hot, and Trevor comes over to help us identify what our orders are. There are several wing sauces. He was very accommodating when some of our orders were incorrect, we think because the tablet is so poorly set up, however, it could have very well been our unfamiliarity with the system. Either way, he was extremely nice and made surewe had what we wanted. Our food was good. Wings were plump, well cooked, and extremely flavorful. The sliders were great as well. Trevor seemed to take pride in making sure we were taken care of. I just hope, when we return, the condition of the rest of the store matches his great attitude and willingness to assure a...
