Dave and Busters here was a 4 stars, perhaps 3 in some ways. It was a good combination of a place where you can eat and play games with friends and family. Adequate seating for most and a good variety of the latest arcade games to play. With a darkened interior lighting, the games light up the room well. The employees were okay. They helped and greeted, but not anymore than they had to. You know, that high school/college type worker that'd greet you, and then turn around the next second to continue chatting with their co-workers. With that said, there is one worker there that I give high regards to. Her name was Chelsea and she was our waitress. She was upbeat, very friendly (leagues above the other workers), and more than happy to help with any request we had. My boyfriend and I did eat there and the foods were excellent for all things considered. It was hot and well cooked, nothing rushed here despite how busy they were. The only issue was that the dish my boyfriend originally ordered, they couldn't make (out of ingredients I assume), so he had to choose another. Chelsea apologized for the inconvenience, gave a few suggestions, and gave him extra spices since he wanted it spicy. Gaming wise, it was awesome! They had plenty of higher end gaming machines and newer ones. Games like Kung Fu Panda (where you hit the pads to hit the objects on screen), a jet fighter simulator (though controls were a bit delayed, but a nice setup), and my boyfriend's favorite; a wall of light orbs that'll light up and you hit them as fast as possible within a time limit (they light up for short periods of time and at random locations). Of course, they had a few classics you'd fine at other arcades such as Donkey Kong and basketball too. Also worth mentioning, everything is done on a card, so all your credits to spend and tickets are digital. Very clean system. The reason why this place gets a 4 (or 3) and not a 5 star rating is because most of the employees service were sub-par, the noise level was a bit too much (expected), running out of food is a possibility, and the number of games available could be more. Aside from that, it's located at a nice part of town and I can see this place being great for all age groups. I'll probably return if the occasion calls for it.

SECOND REVIEW: I’m updating my review after giving this location another shot, especially since they had given a 50% off certificate when they were closed during our first visit. We went on a Thursday late afternoon, and while everything ended up being fine overall, a few things stood out. The place was nearly empty when we arrived, and although we were seated right away, it took about 15-20 minutes before anyone came to our table. My husband actually had to walk back to the host stand to ask if we’d been forgotten. Right after that, a server came over—and to her credit, she was great. Super friendly, attentive, no complaints at all once she took over. The food was also really delicious. My main gripe is the size of this location. It’s hands down the smallest Dave & Buster’s I’ve ever been to. It honestly felt more like a mini version. Luckily, it wasn’t crowded and we were visiting with our 4-year-old granddaughter, so it ended up being just right for her. That was the whole point of our visit anyway. That said, we definitely won’t be returning. It’s just too small for our personal taste and what we typically expect from a Dave & Buster’s experience. ------------ ORIGINAL REVIEW: Drove 1.5 hours (rain and traffic was terrible) from Williamsburg with our 4-year-old granddaughter, only to find a sign on the door saying the place was closed from 2PM–9PM for a private event (Capital One) and would reopen later that night at 9PM. No notice on the website, no heads-up on social media — just a paper sign when we got there. She was so disappointed. If I had known, I would’ve just gone straight to the Virginia Beach location. Now we’re stuck driving 2 more hours. Staff gave us a 50% off voucher, which was appreciated, but honestly, the lack of communication really soured the experience. Not sure I’d come back to this location.

I Came here with my Wife to be for a Date while we are in the area. The Wait staff was a little bit slow but, He was Curdious And Knowledgeable which I appricated. Guessing by the fact there was 2 servers and it slow we on a weekday around 1pm it took around 12-15min to get our Food. So if you want a somewhat peaceful area there's your window. They Have a CANDY CRUSH Game where you can Win Tickets for those of you who are Awesome at Candy Crush. We got the eat and play combo which I was fairly pleased with. The Unlimited Play means 100 Tokens & Any Game that is a Blue Scanner Like the Walking Dead Game which was a HOOT and doesn't give you tickets is FREE. The food was Hot when it came out and the server was nice enough to let us Know our food was ready a couple times. Although I couldn't use my old D&B cards which is where a couple NOTABLE problems arose. 1. The Wings bone out were extra crunchy and semi-Tough after the 1st time like they were OVERCOOKED. The Bone-In turned out better. Their BBq 1 was Great like a Sweet Mesquite with a little Bite, The Buffalo on the other hand was nothing to Cheer about. 2. The fact they Got ALL New Point Cards for all there Games Will become a Big Headache for MANY!! IF you don't know the special trick. I found the Games manager and he told me The card Reading program is a Card Read problem. IF you BEND The card slightly Inward with your thumb like a Smile ☺ and put the card. The Device will read it Alot more. I got it to work more then My Sweetie did. As the Big Burly Head Games guy and He'll show you. He was Very nice and made us feel important. Fix the Overcooked Wing Issue and the Frequent issue with the scanner reading the card and I'll review again.

I recently visited Dave & Buster's with high hopes of enjoying a fun-filled evening, but unfortunately, my experience left me with mixed feelings. While the lively atmosphere and entertainment options were impressive, the quality of the food and the lackluster service were major letdowns.

The first thing that struck me upon entering Dave & Buster's was the vibrant and energetic ambiance. The place exuded a lively vibe, with flashing lights, arcade games, and the sound of laughter filling the air. It felt like a haven for those seeking a good time and a break from the mundane. The overall atmosphere was undoubtedly the highlight of my visit.

Regrettably, my enthusiasm quickly waned as I delved into the dining experience. The biggest issue was the food, which fell far short of expectations. It became apparent that most of the dishes were pre-packaged and reheated, resulting in a lack of freshness and flavor. It was disappointing to discover that even the simplest items, such as fries and chicken tenders, tasted as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long. The lack of attention to culinary quality was a significant drawback and detracted from the overall enjoyment of the outing.

Adding to the disappointment was the subpar service I encountered at Dave & Buster's. It took an unreasonably long time to be acknowledged and seated, leaving us waiting for a good 15 minutes before anyone attended to our needs. Once we finally had the chance to place our orders, the speed at which the food arrived was astonishing. While it may sound impressive that the wings arrived within 3 minutes, it was apparent that they had simply been hurriedly reheated. Freshly prepared wings cannot be delivered in such a short span of time. This hasty service, coupled with the lack of attention to detail, left me feeling neglected and unsatisfied.

Although Dave & Buster's undoubtedly offers a thrilling and entertaining atmosphere, the shortcomings in their food quality and service prevent me from giving it a higher rating. If you're primarily seeking a fun-filled evening of gaming and laughter, then this place might still be worth considering. However, if you're looking for a satisfying culinary experience alongside your entertainment, I would recommend exploring other options in the area.

Overall, Dave & Buster's has potential, but they need to improve the freshness and quality of their food offerings as well as address their service shortcomings to provide a more well-rounded experience for...

I went Monday evening (3/25/24). I had a great time playing the games. The front desk employee and the employee working the gift shop were super nice and helpful. Could not say the same about the employees working food service aka the bar. The vibes were completely ruined once I decided to sit at the high tops and order food. Keep in mind this is Monday evening, a very slow time, not busy at all. In my opinion it took longer than it needed to receive my lemonade. I thought eh it happens. Once we get our food the bartender/server never once came back to ask how our food was or to check on us. At this point I am already finished with my food considering I only ordered a lemonade and a sharable. At first I thought to give her grace she was the only server/bartender. About 15 minutes pass, another employee starts their shift. I am still waiting for someone to come check on me so I can close out. I am thinking okay maybe they are busy with shift change? Nope. Not the case at all. I had to ask over the bar to close out. When I did the employee said nothing and walked away to print my check from the computer. I found this insanely rude considering she was just starting her shift and this is how she interacts with current costumers at the bar. Then another employee starts her shift. She came by and was very nice and said did we need anything. I thought great we finally can get some good service. I told her no thank you we are just waiting on the check from the other employee. I was wrong again. Still had no attentive service. When I finally had my bill it took around 20 minutes for any of the bartenders to come back to even collect my card to pay. Again it is super slow. There were only 4 other people total sitting at the bar tops (where I sat) and two small party's sitting at the tables. And like I said there were now 3 employees working food service handling only 4 small parties. Finally my server comes back with my card and receipt. She says “hope you have a great night” as if nothing was wrong. That was the first thing she said to me since I first spoken to her…. I am just completely shocked this was how my experience was. And yet not one time was I ever rude. Extremely...
