El Vaquero West — Restaurant in Virginia

Short review: Don’t eat here. Long review: Me and my friend went here on Saturday. I order combo #2 (taco, chalupa and enchilada) and she ordered combo #1 (2 enchiladas and a taco). The waiter let us know that you can’t choose what kind of meat you get in the combos they all come with ground beef. The tacos came in a store bought yellow corn hard shell taco. The ground beef was flavorless and had a runny consistency. The tacos also had shredded mozzarella cheese on them. (Traditional tacos don’t come with mozzarella cheese) The enchiladas had a soft white corn tortilla that was not warmed up and it was filled with the runny ground beef. The Mexican yellow rice was also bland. The chalupa from my order was not a chalupa, it was a tostada. The chips and salsa were the best thing that was served. Those chips were much better quality than any tortilla product that was served with the meal. There were also 2 tables plus my table in the entire restaurant that were already eating when we arrived. For the food that was served it took a while for the food to come out. The waiter was nice and attentive. Do not recommend eating here at all, the food...

Manager on duty on 5/5/23 5pm made this 5 star review with his professionalism. Multiple items in our food order were incorrect and when we sent one of the items back we waited over 30 minutes and decided it wasn't worth waiting for anymore so we were getting ready to leave. We paid the bill as we requested the food to be taken to go when it came out as we had been there already for over an hour. I spoke to the manager regarding a refund because we never received the food item we sent back and we were charged for 2 of the item! He said he could do a refund via cash or he could make the 2 items we would charge for asap for us. I didn't want to make a big deal of it so I decide to have him make the food as he said it would take him 5 minutes. He stuck to his word and made it in 5 minutes and included some chips and drinks as a courtesy. He was also very apologetic. Because of his professionalism, I will comeback and give this place another chance. Managers like this are what make the service...

Was seated immediately when we arrived. Staff was very pleasant and tentative to our needs throughout the customer experience. Food was decent as the chips (with salsa) tasted stale and dry. The flautas were hard and not enjoyable to eat. The rest of our order was good (fajitas, burger and fries). Had to go to the bathroom and while walking past the kitchen to the bathroom, I noticed that there was a big trash bin full of chips that they serve with the chips and salsa. I would hope that the trash bin is clean and only used for the chips, but it made me not want to eat the chips and salsa that they brought to the table. Bathroom was fairly clean and the whole customer experience...
