Tropical Smoothie used to be my favorite place to eat. I love the food and the smoothies. However lately I’ve noticed they’ve stopped answering the phone so you can’t order ahead of time. It either rings & no one answers or it goes straight to voicemail. When you walk in to order it takes forever because they’re usually short staffed and only run one register. I’m sure it’s a ploy to make you order online only however you are not able to indicate very specific orders online. Even when I call & talk to them they get it wrong half the time so there is no use doing it online. If you want to keep your long term customers have enough people to take the calls & run another register. With the price you charge & the huge lines I’m sure you bring in enough to have the appropriate number of staff.
Update: The manager Alex is extremely rude and unprofessional. He should not be a business owner. I purchased meals from here almost everyday as I live within walking distance of the store. More than 75% of the time when I ask for no tomato they still put tomato on it. Only at this location, other locations seem to understand the request. Last time when I got home and called to let them know the person who answered stated they were new & it was their mistake and wrote me down for a free wrap next time. I received a call from Alex after hours because the cafe closed at 8:00, on the night of my birthday while I was out celebrating. Not knowing who it was I answer and he starts going off on me telling me that I’m a liar because he has seen my name on the list for a free wrap more than once and that he made it last time & it had no tomato on it. I tried to calmly explain to him what happened & the fact that the person even told me they had made a mistake & apologized. He proceeded to keep yelling at me & told me I’m not welcome there. I wasn’t aware that businesses can deny you service for such a rude & strange accusation. Why would I lie to get a free wrap and still come everyday with my business? I spent an incredible amount of money there each week as it was my daughter & mines favorite place to eat. It truly upset me and was extremely awkward to have this happen on my birthday at that. Of course after that I would never return back again even if I was “allowed”. Read moreI keep trying to give this location a chance, and yesterday was the last one. I've been coming here for years, and each time, my order is messed up. From food that comes out not quite done, overdone or thrown in to the box (upside down), to smoothies that are watered down, have a weird after taste or completely made so thin it is like a slurpee. I wish the management would stop hiring kids to "cook", or have better supervision and training. A manager needs to be on site. I have been in the store, the only customer, and had to wait 30 minutes for one smoothie and a quesadilla. The TS on 29 in Centerville never gets my order wrong, it is fast and the smoothies and food are outstanding everytime. Yesterday, I went and spent over $40 for smoothies and food for my family. It was busy, and I think they had just one person on smoothie duty. I wish I had asked for a receipt, because I would've taken it all back. All of our smoothies were watered down at the bottom, runny and had a weird after taste like soap. It was so gross, my kid who drinks them all of the time almost threw up. His turkey and cheddar wrap was caked in heavy processed cheese, so much so he couldn't even eat it. My Santa Fe Quesadilla was soft and runny on the inside and the tortilla was burnt on the outside. My other child's quesadilla also was burn and the meat had a weird after taste. My mother's salad was the only thing that came out great. I bought another sandwich for my husband and he said it was kinda okay but gross, and he ate it so we didn't waste it. I am tired of wasting money at this store, having the staff talk so much in the back that they can't get orders right, and each time I try to give them a chance, my food comes out horribly wrong. I will not go back to this store anymore, and will stick to making my own, or going to another TS (which is too bad) in either Warrenton or Centerville when I'm in the area. Responded with a name 3 male people / workers in the back looking at phones 😮💨 I told the lady I'm gonna go over here and sit down and start working on my weekend schedule. She didn't even respond she just turned tturned and walked away. 😮💨 I tried ordering my drink online on the drive to the Store and the Website Will Not Take the Order.So I miss my points!😮💨 After waiting a little over 5 minutes I look up to see what's going on and there is four drinks on the counter? I go check and my drink is sitting there with my name and my order number.Which none of these wherever announced. I asked the lady what is the point of asking my name or giving me an order number?If when she brings the drink out she's not going to announce it. Another customer overheard me and said exactly what is the point? She just turned and walked away. Picking up my drink.I went to use the men's room Upon opening the door the light automatically comes on and the floor is atrocious toilet paper and other papers all over the floor.
