I am pretty sure the owner knows this, but this place is a complete scam.
Let’s start with the food, this is the worst immigration of a pita restaurant. Shawarma is made with lettuce tomatoes tabula, hummmus and shish tawook? You took 3 foods, put them together, and named them a different food. It’s fake shawarma. So I went for the gyro, which would have been fine if this restaurant had a sense of direction when putting together ingredients. They stuffed all the ingredients into a pita, including the cold veggies, then pressed the sandwich till it was too hot to touch. Imagine biting into a disproportionate gyro only to get soggy hot lettuce and hot cucumbers as your first bite. Like it was hot hot. Not just regular hot. Disgusting!
Next thing, the kitchen was pretty dirty, the sandwich press was basically rusted with years of residue. Idk how IAD lets these guys operate.
Lastly, the prices are way too high, even for an airport! Especially for what you get. 25 bucks for a combo that is underwhelming. If that’s not bad enough, they are hoarding ketchup packets like crazy. Not sure when ketchup became so scarce.
Anyway, we are here cause that’s all that was open. Which is pretty much why the owner gets away...
Read moreGood spot for a quick meal. Fresh ingredients, had a Greek chicken pita. Very messy but tasty, pita chips were good. Made fresh with fresh ingredients. Store was cluttered and not organized well, cashier is in busy corner. Person behind someone was taking my order. Had good looking smoothies. This seemed like healthiest option in terminal. Not enough seats outside of store. Was hot and flavorful. I added several ingredients and person That helped seemed rushed. Didn’t hinder the meal, I’d go back and eat here again. I normally eat subway in other terminal. Did not taste like garlic chips but was good to help scoop up the messy sandwich that fell...
Read moreThis is the most extremely confusing and disappointing gyro of my life. It is only edible because it’s 1:45AM and I walked to the far end of the terminal before discovering the travesty awaiting me. Not worth the money.
I ordered a gyro and small fries. Ingredients listed for the gyro are meat, lettuce, cucumber, olives, tomatoes, onions, feta, and tzatziki.
I received a greasy and torn pita with gyro meat, lettuce, melted jack cheese, and what may have been ranch dressing.
Update: I found one piece of onion and a slice of green pepper at the end of the gyro. I’m pretty sure this was not intentional, and welcomed them as fellow refugees from the...
