Our son turned 4 years old this past weekend and he requested IHOP for his birthday breakfast, so we took him. Unfortunately, our visit did not end well and this is not the first time weāve experienced issues with this restaurantās food and service quality.
We initially asked if the restaurant did anything special for children on their birthdays. The waitress informed us that they only served some ice cream.
The food was brought to our table in a reasonable time except my order of the Avocado, Bacon, and Cheese omelette. When my food was delivered, my husband was immediately concerned. The avocado had black specs like little bugs or mold (not overripe spots) all over it. When the waitress returned my husband explained our concerns. The waitress stated that she had no idea that she just brings the food to the table and offered to have the kitchen staff remake the dish and offered to let us speak with the manager. My husband stated that we would appreciate that.
Another staff member walked to our table and said āsorry about thatā and set a bowl of sliced avocado on the table that looked very similar to the previous avocado and walked off. We were a bit shocked because we had wanted to speak with the manager.
At this point, I still hadnāt received any silverware and so we waited for the waitress to return to ask her for some more silverware and to notify her that we actually intended to speak with the restaurant manager because we had a health concern about the avocado. She stated that she would have the manager come back to the table.
The manager returned to the table where she began to inform us that avocados always look like that when they are overripe. We explained to her that we as a family consumed avocados often and we had never seen an avocado look even close to the way this one appeared. She then said āoh, well I donāt eat avocados, so I didnāt know thatā. She apologized and told us āthank you for letting me knowā and left. She did removed the item from our bill.
I did not eat the avocado and we felt pretty sure that the omelette was not remade because it was delivered back to the table too swiftly. After we left with a very disappointed experience, we spent time with my sonās friend that also shares the same birthday with him and who also went to IHOP for breakfast.
They informed us that the staff came to their table and sang āHappy Birthdayā to their son and was so confused when they heard they didnāt offer the same to our son.

Iām pregnant so I cannot have that. When I told the waiter, she just walked away twice. When she was serving the guy behind me and walking away I asked her for a manager. But she told me I could not have because they were the cook. She then went to the back and mocked me. She said I was being pissy. Even after explaining to her that I couldnāt eat it because of pregnant and I canāt have meat that isnt fully cooked. It said that we could hear her all the way out here. When I asked her for another waiter after mocking me she said, the other waiter would say the same thing. After two miscarriages in the past Iām not risking anything with this baby. The experience I had was very unpleasant. I didnāt eat the food at all not even the other things because my appetite was lost because I was so upset about the situation. I will never be returning here. My waiters name was viola h. The guy behind me, said he almost left because of how bad our situation was and how argumentative our waiter was about the situation. I will be calling and talking to a manager about the situation. I highly recommend against this IHOP.. They are far from compassionate and understanding. I used to be an IHOP regular and Iāve never had this experience here, but I also only come in the morning. But I will never be returning to this IHOP. Iām typing this as Iām sitting...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhere to start we arrived with our kids to a completely empty parking lot not one soul inside the store to a sign saying they only accepted cash which of course is fine we go in get seated we were seated she came back 5 minutes later takes our drink order takes 10 min to bring our drinks out with only 1 gentleman coming in 15 min after she proceeds to walk to the table with our drinks lay some down along with the receipt and says that before she got there earlier that day someone had done a diamond dash and did not pay for their meal and she would appreciate it if we would go ahead and pay because that's what her manager asked us to do first off it took her 10 minutes to get or more to take our order drinks and bring them to us secondly never would I ever pay for food ever or does it ever look like me and my family would die on our dash completely so I find that very offensive to think that me and my significant other with our two children whatever get up and do something like that plus pay for food that we don't know what is going to come out looking like and then if we are not happy with the outcome then they take it back and possibly spit in it or whatever don't ever go back to this place this is the worst service I've ever had in my life and I work in the fast food and food industry very disrespectful very...
