IHOP — Restaurant in Virginia

Someone stole from me here... but I'll save that for the end.

In regards to the atomosphere.. the seating area is nice, but the bathroom had a horrible odor and the papertowel dispensers weren't working.

We ate here last night & the food was ok. I only went for the free kids dinner which I was told stopped 2 months ago even though I just received an email about it 3 days ago. Our waiter was friendly and tried to be accommodating. He only made one mistake that really irritated me...

I ordered the Wonka burger but they were out of iHop sauce which they knew but I wasn't informed until I asked about it when my burger came out. I asked for a different burger which took quite a while, but it was good. My boyfriend had the Tbone with mashed potatoes and broccoli.. all of which was very bland.

Now about the stealing... I left a tip of $6.10 and someone rounded it up to $7 thinking I wouldn't notice, but I check my bank account everyday so I definitely noticed. For this reason I'll never go back. Stealing extra tips is not ok. And I don't want to hear that it was a mistake because it clearly wasn't. My total was $58.90 and I always leave a tip that makes my total a whole number. A tip of $6.10 would've been a total of $65.00 yet there is a whole on my account for $65.90? 🤔 absolutley intentional. A $7.00 tip and a $6.10 tip are very easy to tell apart. $0.90 might not seem like a lot, but theft is theft and if they did it to me they'll do it to others and this adds up. Eventually they'll get more bold and start stealing more if they're not called out. For this reason, I'll never go back and I am making a report as well.

The only reason I gave any stars is because the jalepeño burger I had was pretty good and my waiter...

We came in around 10:30 on a Sunday morning, so prime time for a Sunday. We were told 20 minute wait for party of 2 , definitely better than I was expecting! There’s limited waiting area inside and it was raining outside and no rain shelter off any sort on the building. They don’t text or call your phone when it’s your turn you have to wait to hear then speak your name, soooo you either cramp into the limited waiting space or get wet in the rain. Ok past that, we sit and wait about 10 minutes (maybe a little more) before someone came to our table. We placed our order. about 20 minutes after placing our order, we hear a commotion in the kitchen (we are seated right in front of the kitchen) employees yelling and cussing, dishes breaking. DRAMA. And suddenly we had no server… another few minutes go by we have no food no server so I finally stop someone to help us. The food was decent but with all the chaos I had to endure to get that food I don’t think it was worth it. The bacon was chewy in parts and waffle was over cooked. Truth be told like most places now adays they are understaffed but the poor staff they do have are worked to the Max and they can’t keep up. I went here because we had been given a gift card but honestly I don’t see myself going back like ever! The only reason I’m giving them a 3 instead of a 1 is because the girl who ended up helping us eventually was awesome and I felt so bad for her. She had to pick up the slack for our server...

So first things first this place was a disaster. Our server came to the table after we sat and waited almost 20 min while employees were just standing around chatting like they all of a sudden lost their vision. I finally called the guy over and said “can we be served sometime today?”

He apologized for the wait. Lady finally came 5 minutes later.

My we ordered our drinks and food at the same time.

We had 2 young children with us (6 years old and 2)

The server gave my 64 year old dad a kids drink when it was supposed to be for my son, then gave my son a glass cup. Not cool. Just a mess waiting to happen.

My brother ordered an omelette. She brought everyone’s food out except his, and then had to ask him what he ordered bc she forgot. Then he asked for a side of hash browns, and she forgot that too, and said “oh thats right you ordered a side of pancakes “. Who the hell orders a SIDE of pancakes?

Then I asked for my burger to be well done, it was pink in the inside, I asked for BBQ sauce and ranch too, she forgot, she also never brought me a strawberry lemonade that I asked for 25 minutes ago. This place is a joke.

Oh and my 2 year old wanted Mac and cheese and APPLE SAUCE. She got fries instead, and said she will bring the apple sauce.

Guess what… still no apple sauce.

Do not go here unless you want horrible service.

This place sucks, server never even asked how things were.

Will NEVER come back to this...
