Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews — Restaurant in Virginia

We went this Saturday October 12th around 4/5pm..Not the best.. this was our first time here.. we got 2 kids cheese pizzas with broccoli an fries..2 burger meals with fries and chicken wings.. we got no silverware. my first bite of the kids cheese pizza tasted off so I sent it back.. it was sour and just off tasting.. I ate the broccoli, it had no butter or seasoning .. my daughter didn’t really eat her cheese pizza and since mine tasted off I didn’t force her to eat it.. I started feeling nauseous so I didn’t eat anymore.. my family ate their burgers.. they say they were ok.. my wife asked for coke with grenadine and the server a young white girl with long brown hair went to the bar got the coke and proceeds to pick up the cherry dish that all the servers hav been dipping their fingers in to get cherrys and pours that juice in my wife’s coke.. we were both disgusted when she came back and sat the drink down at our table.. that was certainly not grenadine an u no how many germs from everybody’s fingers was in that juice ?? My wife did not drink that drink.. I got more nauseous and had to leave the restaurant as my family finished their burgers.. I felt lik I was gonna pass out and vomit so I went to sit in the car and sip water hoping it would pass.. it was either that sour tasting kids cheese pizza I bit into or the dry broccoli that upset my stomach.. my daughter who ate 3 pieces of her cheese pizza was ok tho.. our server wasnt the best , not very attentive and the food wasn’t very memorable.. an since I got sick from the pizza or broccoli we won’t b back.. the bill was a bit over $90 an we left a $3 tip as the server...

My wife, daughter, and I sat down for what we thought would be a relatively quick dinner as we were driving through Richmond, back home to the VA Beach area. Since it didn't look too busy, and we were getting two salads and a kids meal of meatballs and fries, we thought we'd get in and back on the road in about 45 minutes max.

Keep in mind, the restaurant was maybe 1/3 full. There was no wait and a good amount of empty tables. We ordered at 6:10pm. At 6:35pm the waitress came to us and said there was a mixup with our ticket and the kitchen is getting our order together. Another 10 minutes go by, and nothing. I ask the waitress for an update, she goes to the kitchen and 5 min later, comes back with our daughter's food and says our salads are being put together now. At his point it's 6:50 and still no food for us. We reach 7 o'clock and our daughter is nearly done with her food and my wife points out that there's no way she's going to sit still while we eat our food. At which point my wife goes to the manager and says to forget about our salads, we have to leave.

While we're waiting for the manager to come to our table, we watched as nearly everyone who entered before or with us, finish their meals and leave. The manager finally comes over and apologies, says the food is on them, and there's no bill to pay. The waitress comes over and apologies and says, at least your daughter got food, which was just such a weird comment. As if to say, well you didn't walk away with nothing, right? Could have been worse!

The whole experience was frustrating and annoying. I wouldn't go back to...

I am a big fan of Red Robin but did not have a great experience at this Brook Rd location. This review is about the food and drink I ordered, not the service. Our server was very attentive and I could tell she was busy and trying to give all her tables the attention they needed. I was in the mood for a margarita and tried the Strawberry Basil Margarita. It tasted overly sweet. I did not want to tell my server but after taking a few sips I was starting to get a headache. I asked the waitress if I could get a shot of tequila because the drink had too much mix in it. She offered to remake the drink. I tried three second drink it tasted better but still was too sweet. The waitress did everything she could to try and fix the problem and I appreciated that but I won’t be ordering another margarita from them. For my meal I ordered the gourmet cheeseburger. The burger tasted great but my bottomless steak fries were awful. They tasted old and soggy. I didn’t want to bother my server with this since she went out of her way to try and fix my drink. I typically go to the Red Robin Short Pump location and I just feel like the difference in locations is enough for me to not come back. I really wanted to like this location since it is closer to my house but the fries really put me off. Red Robin serves bottomless fries and I think that should be the best part. I appreciate the great service I received but I will be thinking twice before I consider coming back to the Brook...
