Overall Lazy Parrot has been a pretty solid lunch stop for me and my work force. Between all of us we have experienced a good portion of the menu. Everything from the wings (boneless and traditional), sandwiches (Hot and sweet heated & Cassie delight etc), pizza (for it's designated weekly special), their salads (chef & tender salads), some of lazys wraps/quesadillas, side items and the ribs.
Lazy has great/nice sized quality bone-in wings and the boneless wings aren't bad either if you are into that. The parrot provides an endless list of sauces that anyone can pull something they like from. The wraps and sandwiches and salads are usually on point with freshness. Portion vs Prices are also a positive here.
As for the ribs, these are supposed to be stellar and a staple from what I've heard (under the wings of course). Our experience is the opposite. They have been dry and overcooked with zero flavor if eaten without sauce. The ribs are one of lazy parrots weekly specials and it seems like they are cooked before hand and then reheated. Anyone that has ordered them before (including myself) did not finish or truly begin eating them...
The staff from my point of view genuinely care if you have what you need and will go the extra mile to fix any issues (thanks Melissa, Peggy and others). They are enforcing mask wearing and Covid protocols.
The interior/exterior are decently clean (could use a deep cleaning but not nitpicking). The men's bathrooms need attention especially since the toilet area doesn't have an operational locking handle.
From what advertisements are around the restaurant LP provides great beer and wine specials and also cornhole and a self serve Bw3s style video bar game.
My top notable mentions:
*Hot & Sweet Heated (Add bacon & ex napkins) -Thin sliced roast beef heated and topped with provolone cheese and sweet heat. Served on a pretzel roll
*Bone in wings covered in Sweet heat, Spicy golden garlic or CJs.
*Tender salad with Thousand island -A bed of iceberg and romaine, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, croutons, cheddar and mozzarella cheese, topped with boneless wings and served with your choice of dressing.
*The Fat Pig Wrap -Pork BBQ, baked beans, cole slaw, crushed potato chips and your...
Read moreMan, what a place. I've driven past it ten thousand times, and it always looked like a party. I guess part of me was concerned it would be a Buffalo Wild Wings situation, where you couldn't hear anyone speak, and the sports and drunks would be in your face. None of that is true. The service was impeccable, kind, and inviting. The clientele felt like mostly well-known, solid regulars and there was more than one 'Norm!' recognition when someone walked in, like the classic sitcom Cheers. The place was bustling on the Friday night I visited, but it was in no way intrusive, offensive, or a nightmare for an introvert like me. To the contrary, it was inviting and inclusive, a family atmosphere where you felt at home. My counterpart was vegetarian, and sober, which is always a concern at a bar, but the Parrot made it low-stakes. We ordered a grilled cheese with waffle fries, and a patty melt with hushpuppies. Both dishes were delicious and perfectly made. Spoiler: I like to test a kitchen with a proper patty melt. The toast was griddle toasted. The onions were firm and slippery. The patty was smashed, and the cheese was perfectly melted. It was divided into two very equal portions. If the Patty Melt Coalition ever needs an exemplar, I have a suggestion. Go here. We were Pepsis and waters at our table, but the beer list is pretty astounding.Bitter, sour, mild, spicy, fancy, all here. Plus, there's plenty to do while you wait for your delicious food and drink: Pool table, darts, drunk-bag-toss-in-small-hole, 2 bars, and plenty of people watching. It's my new favorite place. Highly recommended. Two dinners with sides plus drinks was about $20. I left a 30% tip because A) that price is astounding. B) Our service...
Read moreLazy Parrot used to be our favorite wing place, for years. My husband, family and I have been fans for over a decade and a half. Unfortunately, in recent years, it's really gone down hill. Recently, when ordering takeout wings, we tend to receive them nearly plain with barely enough of the chosen sauce included underneath the wings (not on them, but under them--it's clear the wings themselves are dry and plain). We've ordered several different flavors at this point, hoping desperately to find a flavor that is reminiscent of the ones we used to love from LP, and yet they all seem to have the same problem. This evening, my husband and I decided to order them "extra wet" to see if that would help, and we received them in the same exact condition--barely cooked, severely under sauced...and to top it off, the tiny amount we did get of the garlic parmesan wings sauce tasted like plain milk. There was hardly any spice, very little (if any) garlic or parmesan discernible. They were so gross tasting, I couldn't bring myself to eat more than one flat. This is NOT how these wings used to be! It's clearly turned into a major pattern with this establishment at this point, and I wonder what has gone wrong at this business to be suffering so badly by under cooked and sauced wings for this long. Such a disappointment! We are likely done ordering from them at this point, until we have reason to believe that it's been improved, and I sure hope it does. Oh, and I forgot to mention--they charged us for the "extra wet" despite the fact that both of our wing orders arrived with very little sauce on them at all. Barely sauced in the first place, much less "extra wet." What's going on, LP?! Get...
