Today (04/12) I went to the store to pick up bread and also bought for my wife likes red bean paste pastries, one of the Walnut Redbean Bread buns.
When my wife came home from work later in the afternoon, she cut the bun in half to discover while there were walnuts in the bun, there little to none redbean paste inside. (see attached photo)
Disappointed and upset that the product was not as advertised, she called the store and told by whoever answered the phone (a young man it seems) that first he was not aware the store sold this product (despite it being listed as such on the store receipt) She then asked how many grams of redbean paste is supposed to be in each bun and the answer she got was 'I don't know'. She then asked to speak to someone who would know and was told she would have to speak to the manager. So she asked to speak to the manager and was told he/she was not in the store. She asked when the manger would be in the store and was told tomorrow morning(04/13). She then asked for the manager's name and she was not given that information. She then asked the person she was speaking to for his name and that is when the person who she was speaking to ended the call. So there of 2 issues here. bad or uneven product quality and unacceptable customer service. As much as my wife likes this store's products, she has vowed not to set foot in the...

Picked out 3 savory pastries and 4 sweet ones as well as 1 pistachio latte and 1 orange latte. This place is amazing if you enjoy the taste of dirt mixed with orange and super sweet milk with a chunk of pistachio paste sitting at the bottom.
All the pastries had good amounts of filling which they deserve a star for. Sadly I have to take that star back since all of them were disappointing. If you like the mix of sweet and savory in your savory pastries then this place delivers on that, personally we did not like them which is ok, I'm sure others do.
However the sweet ones...the sweet cream pastry tasted like fatty american butter(I can see some liking it), almond paste was lacking in almond taste, blueberry yogurt pastry was slightly better having a strong fatty yogurt taste with real blueberries but it felt like it it smacked your mouth with fat, and the red bean paste donut was painfully average.
Service was quick and nice and I have to commend them for using better and healthier ingredients. Overall though, I would pick Jireh and Paris Baguette and their sinful/unhealthier baked goods...
Read moreUPDATE I called and spoke with the manager about the concerns with my most recent visit, and I was surprised to receive my full refund without having to return to the store. That was unexpected, but appreciated, so I am increasing from 1 to 2 stars. Still unlikely to go back at this point, but will see if they improve in the future.
ORIGINAL REVIEW Had tried this Centreville location two months ago, and wasn’t very impressed (red bean, choux cream, chestnut bread). Most breads were either very dry (chestnut loaf) or too sweet (red bean, choux cream). Today, I got the red bean, soboro, peanut butter cream soboro, and suk castella, and hoped extra time would give them time to improve.
I’m honestly shocked - all except the soboro are so salty, I couldn’t even take more than one bite. The soboro was ok and burned on one side, but the others had to go straight into the trash - terrible since this place is one of the most expensive in the area.
The idea of organic and multigrain is great, but after two visits, the quality is nowhere close to the expectations or price. Just keep going to Shilla or Jireh nearby, there’s no reason to try this...
