As a combat veteran with three degrees, currently earning my fourth, a homeowner, an investor, and a man who carries himself with respect, discipline, and honor, with NO CRIMINAL RECORD, I do not tolerate disrespect, especially blatant discrimination.
Just about an HOUR ago, I walked into this 7-Eleven expecting basic customer service. Instead, I was met with open contempt. A Hispanic female employee had no problem serving the Hispanic man ahead of me, but the moment I stepped forward, she turned her back and walked away. I stood there, watching as another employee had to step in to serve me. No explanation, no apology, just deliberate, dismissive disrespect.
This is not an isolated incident. I’ve seen other reviews describing the same behavior towards Black customers at this location. This is a pattern, and I refuse to let it slide. Racism, whether overt or subtle, has no place in a business that serves the public.
To 7-Eleven corporate and store management: FIX THIS. • Investigate this employee and the management that allows this behavior to continue. • Enforce real accountability, train, reprimand, or replace those who refuse to treat all customers with equal respect. • If this store allows discrimination to persist, then legal and corporate complaints will follow.
I do not tolerate disrespect, and no other Black customer should ever have to experience this again. I will never return to this location, and I will make sure others are aware of the treatment they can...
Read moreI brought my 2 year old and 7 year old today to the 7-11 in Centreville Plaza because they were really excited about free slurpee day. While we were there around 10:15 am, an older lady working there came over and told us free slurpees are only between 11 am- 7 pm. My son had already filled his up so I asked her does that mean we need to come back at 11? She said yes. She also criticized my son for the slurpee coming out of the top of the cup, which he was already cleaning up with a napkin. Sometimes it’s messy when you’re filling up a slurpee, especially since he’s a 7 year old child filling it on his own. It wasn’t even that messy. We went to another 7-11 down Lee Hwy and they let us the free slurpee at 10:25 am since there is no rule about the hour at which you can get one. Other people were there getting free slurpees too. They were kind to me and my children at the other store. I was really upset and frustrated about how this lady treated me and my children. By the way, I looked online and there’s no rule about the timeframe of a free slurpee and there was no sign in the store about time restrictions. Therefore, I’m not sure where she got the rule from and why she decided to be rude to me and my children...
