Panera Bread — Restaurant in Virginia

This particular Panara has declined in recent years. Choosing a booth was challenging since the floor beneath every booth table looked like it's last occupants had been very messy toddlers and whoever wiped the tables had left crumbs behind. It felt like we were eating at someone's messy house rather than the cleanliness you expect at a restaurant.

We've always been big Panera fans and we don't have one where we live, so it's a treat we used to look forward to. But our soups and tea were lukewarm instead of hot ( we made use of their microwave to heat them up ) and sadly the texture of the baguettes betrays the use of fillers rather than the quality they used to be a few years back. I was looking forward to the seasonal Mexican Street Corn soup and, though the flavor was decent, it was not the usual consistency - maybe I got the super thick last bit from the bottom of the pot? Overall, our experience here today was very disappointing, especially considering how much one pays for it and that this has been the trend here the last few years. It was disappointing enough for my husband and I to agree we need to find a new favorite place to eat when we come...

QUICKLY has become one of my favorite paneras. I have visited well over 20 locations state wide. I enjoy this one as one of my top 3 for sure. This location keeps bringing me back for sure! The management take time to listen to their customers when there are issues, they resolve them quickly and patiently using education and action. I have seen the magic of these kind hearted folks. The management here are actually the BEST I've seen at any job, location, store ever. If I ever applied to this franchise, It would be to this location. The staff follow suit with kindness. They keep a clean and tidy store in every part of it. They are consistent with policies for customer care and remain fair no matter how upset a customer is. They are acknowledged in continuing to maintain boundaries with customers as well without giving in. I LOVE this place. Just top notch. Also the kitchen is so great! They are quick and always ensure you're meal is called out and they talk to you like real people. I want to note the bathrooms are always stocked up and clean. Food is always hot. Coffee is always fresh....

Pretty disappointed in my latest visit. Generally, I don't have any issues here, and I was going to give this a 3 star but then the ending made me a bit more upset. Did a carryout order with some customizations, basically none of them were taken into consideration. I called the store and asked for them to remake my order and they said they would and I came in to get it. They offered me a pastry for the trouble but apparently rescinded that when I told them my wife's order was also wrong and I'd like that remade too. She had a salad with chicken which they gave her the wrong dressing originally. I don't think they believed that was reason to remake the salad but ultimately that wouldn't have been an issue if the order was right to begin with. The new salad came with no chicken so that's why I took it down another notch. I wasn't trying to get free food, I was just upset for having to come back a second time for my order to be correct.
