Sit tight for this one⦠Setting 8/10 Customer service 9/10 I was greeted upon arrival and did not wait long at all to be seen. The initial person who started my nails Iām assuming sheās new to doing nails. (I thought she was the receptionist). Wasted part of my day just to try to get some money. Iām not a nail tech, but I know how and what is supposed to be done. I will attach pictures as well. She put the tips on any kind of way and a few of them werenāt even glued all the way down. After putting the tips on she told me to go wash my hands. At 30 and have been getting my nails done for at least 15 years. I HAVE NEVER been told to wash my hands before acrylic is laid except upon arrival. I hate she used different color tips and she pulls out the ugliest pink acrylic, but Iām trying to see this through. After she laid acrylic on 2 nails I stop and let her know that I can still see the tip through the acrylic because the acrylic is so thin. She lets me know that āoh yeah Iām going to go over it again.ā Ok Iām trying to trust the process. It only gets worse sheās using so much monomer, she doesnāt know how to use the drill, she didnāt know how to bead acrylic, or properly lay it. I also want to add she is not prepared to do a full set. She doesnāt have all her supplies, sheās using tools sheās not comfortable with, and just doing anything. The acrylic was extremely runny, on my skin, and all on her gloves. She began to drill, file, and lay more acrylic. Itās going from bad to worse. I keep trying to stop her before the work is complete because I keep looking at my hand like thereās no way she thinks Iām going to pay for this. She sprayed alcohol on my nails after laying more acrylic. I can still see the tips through the acrylic, there are spots where there is no acrylic and it should be, and big bulky spots from her applying the acrylic any kind of way. So I finally say āI donāt know how to say this, but in the nicest way possible I feel like youāre playing on my hands.ā She asked if I wanted to see her other work, I donāt. Iām seeing it first hand. Again she tried to tell me sheās not done, but ummm maāam you are. I donāt even think she had the vision to see this through. Any licensed nail tech knows or should know that the foundation is what makes the nails, not all the stuff you have to put on top to cover up sloppy work. Another young lady suggest she start on my pedicure and that she will get me taken care of once sheās done with her client. Finally I can some what breathe. Iām not sure if she felt some type of way about not completing my nails, but she never asked what kind of pedicure I wanted, she turned the jets off, and at some point my feet were just sitting in a bowl of water during the pedicure. Iād rate that pedicure 3/10. Looking down at my feet it does not look like a licensed professional polished my toes. A spa pedicure for $50, when there was 1 lukewarm towel laid across my feet and then a hot one at the end. It wasnāt relaxing or enjoyable. Now Zi, thank you for being a day saver. Initially she was correcting the work that was previously applied to my hands, but she realized it wasnāt salvageable. She got me soaked off, proper tips applied, and acrylic laid. As she is doing my nails I can tell she is confident in her work. We brainstorm our ideas together and the set came out amazing. If Bell can see this, keep practicing, not in a shop on paying people though, maybe using the nail hands and your close family...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had my first and last appointment with nail boss 8/8/2023. I give this place 2 stars because the two nail techs were friendly. Initially I thought, I have finally found a place where I can get a decent pedicure (regular polish) and my eye brows waxed. NOT! The owner did my eye brows and what a jacked up job she did. Left eye brow was okay...a little thin but still cute. The right eye brow was almost bald and she took out hair in the middle of the brow but then asked me if I had a scar, knowing she had made a mistake. I wasn't upset (though I didn't like my brows) because, the hair will grow back but what I didn't like is still being charged for the jacked up eye brow service ($25 for eyes, lip and chin) and I feel they upcharged me for the pedicure (regular polish- $45) and a manicure (no polish $10) which wasn't completed because I had to leave, actually she barely got started. Cost $80 plus $10 tip. I asked about my charges in comparision to the prices list because my charges seemed high, I was told the prices on the price list are for students only-though students only are not stated on the price list....I didn't push the issue knowing I would not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely love the owner Toreka! I've been seeing her now for 7 years and am so excited to find out that she branched out on the blessings of her talent to open up her own shop!
Today I had the pleasure of working with Kiya. She did my pedicure and it was great! I also needed a fill and repair done as well. She heard my concerns from my last visit at another shop that the shape wasn't exactly what I expected. She not only reshaped my nails perfectly but after getting to know one another she totally understood my "nail spirit" and that's when the magic happened and she exceeded my expectations. Thank you girl!
Kudos to all the staff at Nail Boss for trulying standing up to the name. Look forward to seeing you all again next time; I finally have my Nail...
