I had a terrible experience at the Paris Baguette café in Manassas, Virginia.
Although I previously praised their products, today I must express my deep dissatisfaction due to a series of issues and deplorable customer service.
The customer service has been extremely poor from the employees and the manager. For example, while politely expressing a complaint to one employee, another employee rudely interrupted, calling the employee away from the conversation without considering my interaction with her.
Furthermore, I had a dreadful experience when I attempted to eat some McDonald's hamburgers in the café. The manager kicked me out, arguing that it wasn't fair to other customers. However, I have seen other people bring outside food and eat inside without any problem.
I want to mention the issues that led to being banned from the café. While I accept responsibility for using the women's restroom in an emergency, I want to emphasize that it was a single-person restroom, not a shared one. It was a mistake on my part, and I sincerely apologize for it. Although I was surprised that the employee in charge of the men's restroom was taking so long, which is why I ended up using the other restroom.
This incident was a triggering point, but the other problems I experienced are absurd and unjustifiable.
An incident occurred when I asked an attractive employee at the counter if she had Instagram. She politely informed me that she had a boyfriend, which I fully respected. However, the manager approached to complain that I was asking personal questions, insinuating as if I were a harasser, which I find unwarranted as it was a normal conversation with someone my age.
Another problem occurred when, in casual conversation, I asked another employee if she was studying at university or school. I was genuinely interested as she seemed dedicated to her work. Once again, the manager complained that I was asking personal questions, which is extremely bothersome. Now it seems that simple questions like "How's your day?" or "How are you?" can't be asked because they are considered "personal" and end up causing problems with the manager. It appears that one cannot have a normal conversation without it becoming an issue.
In summary, due to these senseless issues, I was banned from the café and cannot return. It is complete nonsense and lack of respect. Although the products are good, I would not recommend this place at all. Even the slightest detail can lead to problems, and the customer service is terrible. My experience was...
Read moreUpdate: so I went home with my chocolate croissants, and was ready to enjoy. They are stuffed to the max with this delicious, light chocolate whipped cream. I was immediately let down, when I realized they must’ve ran low on things and ordered from Panera! I HATE Panera’s chocolate croissants, and they are very distinct. There is the tiniest drop of chocolate after searching the whole pastry, and it is unappetizing, sticky, and gross, like something you’d find in a diaper.
I was really looking forward to getting a Paris Baguette. I always had to go to Annandale or Centreville from Woodbridge. It is one of our favorite bakeries anywhere. This one is mainly a cafe with tables and chairs. They have an extremely limited amount of popular individual items such as croissants. You can’t get whole loaves of bread or other large items sold at the other locations. I usually get a huge loaf of buttercream bread, and it’s only like $7. I had to buy individual servings here. I got one, and 2 donuts and 2 croissants and an iced tea for $35. It was kind of a rip off because you have to order small items that add up. I love to get the fresh cooked cheese breads, and things like that but they don’t have those either. My Yuzu Iced Tea was really bad and I immediately threw it out. If you are really craving a chocolate croissant which they’re known for, it’s fine. But if you are expecting a Paris Baguette you won’t be...
Read moreI have had 2 bad experiences with catering orders here. The first one was an “oops” with their online system offering times that should not have been available, it was inconvenient but I thought I’d give them another try because they’re close to my house and would make for a convenient pickup. The second order got lost completely - which I only found out because I called to confirm the order. I spoke to shift lead Ricky, who put exactly 0 effort into helping me. He didn’t ask for my name, order number, or phone number to try to find the order placed online. He ask the bakers if they had an order for me, they said no, and apparently that was the limit of effort he was willing to put in. I explained that I’d like to know if my order would be ready, so I could make alternate plans if needed, and Ricky couldn’t even commit to calling me back to let me know. What a joke. He said his manager comes in “whenever” and doesn’t have a regular schedule and isn’t reachable. This place is terribly run by teenagers, will not...
