I usually love Popeye's Chicken, who am I kidding, I love Popeye's chicken. Lately when I go to this location the chicken is overcooked and dry. It still tastes good mind you, but it's very dry... not at all juicy the way fried chicken should be. The biscuits are dry as well but edible. Everything else was fine as always. My real issue with this location is that every time they advertise their Raspberry and cream cheese pies they never have them... an I mean NEVER. No matter what time a day you go they always claim to be out already. How is that even possible when they're a franchise and these things are shipped out frozen and ready to cook to order. Unless this location is only willing to order less than they should in order to accommodate their customers. I was even told once that I'd have to wait 10 minutes for them to cook.. an obvious deterrent for me not to want to wait it out since my food would be cold once they were done. This is very irritating to say the least. If a fast food place is going to advertise something these franchise locations should be willing to purchase the items for their locations. Who is running these places if they are allowing their product to go out the door overcooked, and not supplying their patrons with what they advertise?
Update- I wrote this review more than a year ago and hadn't been back to Popeye's since my last disappointment in their overly dried out chicken. But today I decided to try out their new Bigger Box for my and my daughter for dinner. Though a rude customer that sat at the drive thru from over time minutes nearly made me leave I decided to run inside instead. I was immediately greeted by a young man behind the counter just as I walked through the door. He promptly took my order and another young man started preparing it right away. It was peek dinner hour so this really surprised me on how fast they were working. The only thing I waited for were the 2 apple pies that come with the box and they were made fresh so I have no complaints. The food was excellent and extremely delicious like the Popeye's I'm used to eating. If they are working this hard now to please their customers than I change my mind about this location. I think they've done a fine job of fixing their internal problems. Though of course these were all new employees as well so I received excellent service and great food. I was in and out so fast that buy the time I was walking out the rude lady at the drive thru never ordered anything and drove away as I was walking out. I can't believe how rude some people...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was my first time (yesterday evening around 21:35) going to Popeyes. I knew the general location of the place since Iāve seen it off 610 during the day however, I drove past it 3 times because none of the outside lights were lid.
Once I finally got to the drive through, nobody acknowledged me. I thought the place was closed for some reason since the outside of the building wasnāt lid either. As I started driving off, I saw the lights inside on and people in the restaurant so I turned back around in attempt to get some food.
It was like a Deja Vu: Iām sitting in my car waiting for someone to acknowledge me through the intercom but nothing. Enough time wasted between trying to find the place and get service so I drove straight up to the window.
A good while goes by before a lady notices me waiting. She asked if I had been helped and I said: āNoā. She was very friendly and apologetic.
My server at the drive through was a girl who could barely speak English. Iām not a native English speaker either so I have a lot of patients for fellow immigrants. However, anyone in customer service should have basic communication skills. She did not pass them.
All I was trying to do was to get two pieces of chicken and a side order of green beans. Like I said, Iāve never been to Popeyes before but she took no time to try to explain the menu to me. Not like I could see the menu since nobody acknowledged me at the spot where the drive through menu was...
She kept pushing me to get a meal. I did not want to get a meal, just two pieces of chicken and green beans. āWe donāt have green beansā. Fine, I understand sometimes restaurants run out of incredients. I opted for beans and rice instead. Not because she told me what sides they had but because I remembered someone had been talking about Popeyes serving beans and rice.
I should have left the place a long time ago and gone somewhere else. I was asked about a drink 3 times and had the keep repeating that Iāll just have a water. Which I ended up not getting. She got the food, handed it to me, closed the window and walked away. I waited for my water for a little while thinking she was getting it for me since she didnāt say a word when she handed me the food. But no, she just took off.
Food was fine for fast food chicken but horrible, horrible service. I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely TERRIBLE!! We started by waiting 15 minutes for the two female employees at the counter to start taking orders. The lady in front of us in line asked if they were going to take orders and the first employee who we later found out was in charge snapped ignorantly at her at her saying they were busy with another order. The second employee kept flipping her loosely hanging hair from hanging in her face to the rear. I counted four times. When we ordered she grabbed our cups to go get us tea. Instead of grabbing the cups normally she put her fingers on the inside of the cup. The same hand she was flipping her hair, rubbing her eyes, and scratching her face. She told us she would call us when our order was ready. We waited another 15 minutes and saw her serve 10 people who were after us in line. My wife asked about our order and she said she was busy and served another person who walked in to order well after we were sitting and waiting. What we ordered was not unique (Chicken and tenders). My wife asked to speak to a manager and the employee would not answer. She asked two more times and the first employee said. We do not have one. So we asked who was in charge and the fist employee said she was so we said we would like the talk with her. She rolled her eyes and walked away. She would not come back to us. My wife called the customer service line sharing our experience and the first employee tells the second employee that my wife better watch herself. We are going to get an audience with Poppeyās Corporate to follow up and I will go back during the week to see if there is a manager. Needless to say we through the food away, especially after noting the rodent traps at the door on our way out. One white and one black. Disgusting hygiene with TERRIBLE...
