THEY ARE BACK!! After months of closure due to lock-down, happy to let others know that this buffet establishment is open to sit down dining once again. Virginia has eased lock-down restrictions and this place is open and welcoming guests back, not just for takeout, but true sit down dining. Of course there are some new guidelines as part of the new norm that you can expect at a buffet restaurant. These are all good guidelines that help us all stay safer at this time. Here are some of the guidelines you need to be aware of: 1) They will do a temperature check on each individual to make sure you are not showing any signs of fever. 2) When you leave your seat, whether it is to approach the buffet line or restroom, you are required to wear your face mask. There are lots of reminders signs everywhere. 3) The staff go thru daily process to check temperature and assess symptoms. 4) It will be staff-serving buffet, meaning you go up to the buffet line, they will have plastic plates, you just let them know what you would like and their staff will serve them on a plate for you to bring back to your seat. 5) They do ask that you do your part to keep 6 ft apart from others. 6) They have plastic re-usable silverware. Condiments such as soy sauce and wasabi are by request and will be brought to you by your server. 7) Coffee and ice cream need to be requested thru your server as those will be brought to you too. Customers will not be in direct contact with any of the food at the buffet lines. You will need to point and request what you would like at the buffet line or have your server bring certain items to you. It all makes for a much cleaner buffet experience. There are still capacity restrictions at the moment, so expect to see some empty tables in between tables. The food is excellent and so is the experience. Glad to see this place open and if you miss this place, go ahead and revisit them. They are open for lunch and dinner.

Sushi On is a Outstanding with Delicious Foods! It is an excellent restaurant with terrific Japanese, Korean & Chinese food. What restaurant can you get All-You-Can-Eat delicious Sushi and Korean Bulgogi. The price is so reasonable for the amount of food that you get. My husband and I love coming here every week. It's a great place to meet family and friends. You have to try dinner too. You get amazing snow crab legs and other dishes that you don't get at lunch time. Hurrah! They open 7 days a week for lunch 11:30 am 2:30 pm and dinner 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm Dinner hour is shorten because of Corvid restrictions. Here are some of the guidelines you need to be aware of: 1) They will do a temperature check on each individual to make sure you are not showing any signs of fever. 2) There are hand sanitizer at the lobby and throughout the restaurant 3) When you leave your seat, you are required to wear your facemask. There are lots of reminders signs everywhere. 4) They are piloting people self serving. There are tongs, disposable plates and boxes of large vinyl gloves 5) It were and may go back to staff-serving buffet, meaning you go up to the buffet line, they will have plastic plates, you just let them know what you would like and their staff will serve them on a plate for you to bring back to your seat. 6) They do ask that you do your part to keep 6 ft apart from others. 7) They have plastic re-usable silverware. 8) Condiments such as soy sauce, wasabi and other sauces are on a separate table by the soup 9) Coffee and ice cream can be requested; However, you can get it yourself too. 10) The delicious individual bites of desserts are still self serve. There are capacity restrictions so there are empty tables in between tables. The food is excellent and so is the experience. Let's keep them in business!

TLDR: Great selection of various Asian foods but subpar sushi. Come for the soba noodles and Korean food. Vibe: 4/5. Sushi On is located at one of the entrances of Fair Oaks Mall. The dining room is massive, easily accommodating both large and small groups. The buffet is located in the center of the restaurant and is broken out into several different sections based on the type of food. You have a sushi area, a Japanese food, Chinese food, Korean food and dessert bar. Service: 4/5. We arrived on a Saturday at 2pm for lunch but upon walking up to the hostess stand, we were told they close at 2:30pm in order to reset the buffet for the 5:30pm dinner service. We had the option to sit and have lunch, however they would not be replenishing the buffet. After taking a quick look at what was out, we decided that there was enough selection on the buffet to make it worth our wild to dine. After scrambling to load up 4-5 plates with what was left, our server mentioned that promptly at 2:30pm they would be cleaning up the buffet so he encouraged us to take anything we wanted before then. I definitely appreciated the heads up, and they allowed us to stay well past 2:30pm to finish our plates. Service also did a great job keeping our drinks filled. Food: 2/5. The sushi was more or less disappointing. Understanding that buffet sushi is on a different level in terms of quality vs. a la carte sushi, Sushi On was below par to other sushi buffets I have visited. The sushi was extremely bland, with little to no vinegar in the rice. There were times I could not taste the difference between various pieces using different types of fish/shellfish. The selection was nice, as they had an array of nigiri, maki and specialty rolls but again you really couldn't differentiate the taste between the sushi. The various hot foods such as the Korean kalbi, Japanese soba noodles, Korean fish pajeon and bite sized dessert cakes were the highlights of the lunch, but certainly weren't enough to save the meal. I really wanted to love Sushi On, however the less than stellar sushi execution will probably make this a one and done dining experience for me.

I was a little skeptical at first but after eating here once I'm convinced. The sushi they had was all good/tastey and they did have some real stuff not just all variations of California rolls like some other locations. I came on a Friday night and they even had all you can eat snow crab legs, a mongolian cook to order, a crepe to order and some precooked japanese and korean buffet entries. The dessert here is not an afterthought like in many asian buffets, with cook to order custom crepes to include legit nutella and all your other toppings, snow cones, soft serve, cappuccinos/lattes, and your usual asian buffet pastries its an excellent desert as far as buffets go, the pastries leave a bit to be desired but the nutella crepe and cappuccino combo more than make up for it. The selection overall is very good and the food was all tastey and fresh. Service was very attentive and the place was well lit and clean. Even if you have a non-sushi eater amongst you they wont leave here hungry as there are plenty of cook to order options for them. Overall excellent value and excellent shushi + buffet experience will come again. Finally its 35$ a head on Friday nights but you do get your money's worth in terms of quality, the fancy sushi places i normally frequent only have a bit more sushi selection and my bill usually comes out double without all the other good stuff this place has.

This was definitely a fun place to visit! I love buffet style especially when I'm not sure what I feel like eating! This location is perfect inside the mall! Please be sure you check the times they are open, because they do not operate the entire day! Which makes the location smart because you can go check out the stores while it gets closer to the time to be let in! The quality and variation of foods is absolutely amazing! Everything I got was delicious! I really love sashimi and seeing a good variety as well as well as fish other than the common tuna and salmon (don't get me wrong I love those! But they're usually the only option). So it was a lot of fun to try out new stuff as well! They make fresh crepes as well, which is a lot of fun to watch and they are also delicious! They have an ice cream machine as well as espresso! This is my first time here, so I'm not sure if they consistently keep the same items, or if there is a rotation depending on the day or the time (we went for the evening). But I definitely will come back! This is such a great place that I do plan on bringing my family and friends here! The staff are really nice and super helpful! They are extremely quick to removing used dishes from your table as well as refilling your drinks! ❤️

Everything we tried was delicious. Such a wide variety of Asian foods, all well made. Tempura, cold soba soup, mussels, a wide range of sushi including vegetarian and beef tartare, Korean rice noodles, kimchi, galbi beef that was perfectly rare and tender. All the tiny desserts were tasty. The espresso machine was a perfect touch, although it was a bummer that the ice cream machine was down. Would have been nice to make an affogato. It would be nice if they could put a cap on the amount of crab legs or oysters per customer per trip to the buffet. Even though there was a line of people waiting behind them, some incredibly greedy people were taking entire plates of nothing but crab legs or oysters the second they put out a fresh tray. It was a bit too crowded for my liking, but it was understandable considering it was a weekend. One upside to a busy day at a buffet is that nothing lasts very long, so the food is fresher.
