Gather ‘round for this sad tale at Guadalajara.
My friend and I walked into what we thought would be a great experience, however, we were mistaken. We sat down at the booth and was served the usual chips and salsa. My friend reached for a chip and dipped it into the salsa. Upon taking a bite, she discovered it was like Dante’s Inferno. The unnecessary spice took her aback. So we ordered queso. Which again, was like the 5th gate of hell, per my friend.
I ordered a coronoarita. Pretty standard. But I was super disappointed to find out that it was essentially Corona blended with ice and 0 flavor. I let my waitress know. Not a super big deal, just asking if peach flavor could be added. Apparently, it was the worst thing that anyone has ever said to this lady as her eyeballs rolled so hard they almost fell out of her head. Again, not a huge deal, just didn’t wanna drink a Corona flavored slushy. She tried to argue with me back and forth about the flavor. At that point, I was pretty annoyed and just told her to take it and it was fine. She continued to roll her eyes again after I brought it up. Asked her to not roll her eyes, but she couldn’t control her eyes.
At this point, my friend and I just walked out because we were done inconveniencing the waitress and went elsewhere.
The reviews about service is true, is just not good....
Read moreWe come here occasionally and normally everything is good. But we went last night and got placed in the section all the way to the left that had storage everywhere. We waited for about 15 minutes with no server or water. One of the other servers that we knew from a different restraunt came by to say hi and told us he would get our server. We waited another 10 minutes and as we w were getting up to leave the server came by. We thought maybe this would be the end of the slow service and maybe she was catching up on her tables (although they weren't very busy) But nope we continued to be ignored. Around 15 more minutes passed and we finally waved someone down to place our order. I wanted to get drinks but the waitress was being really rude. The way she was saying okay and looking at us. I am not sure what we did to her. But it really sucked. We went around 5pm and didn't get to leave until 730 or so. Food was alright. Didn't see the waitress again until way after we finished our meals. This was a horrible experience especially when we were trying to have an early dinner and ended up being there for...
Read moreHow. How are you possible understaffed and underprepared for CINCO DE MAYO. You were prepared enough to have specials... posted in the lobby but couldn’t staff a host/hostess? I can’t entirely even blame Guad- this town is consistently underprepared for holidays / events and it’s truly baffling. The servers/busboys/line cooks- all just stared at the 10-15 people in groups at the front door for well over 15 minutes... they even stared while perching their arms over one of the booths. Not a manager in sight... none of them with any sense of urgency or care really that the lobby was filling up and no one was acknowledging us. I guess they were busy enough. Lighting money on fire when your guests walk out the door because they can’t even get someone to tell them it’s going to be a while. And the thing is- they can chalk it up to a bad day, being underprepared for the business, whatever... but next time I’m in mood for Mexican on a day when they are prepared, fully staffed and ready- I won’t think “hey let’s go to Guad” - I’ll pick one of the other 20 Mexican restaurants in town because that’s...
