Chicken Spot — Restaurant in Visalia

(UPDATE DOWN BELOW) When this place was A&W, the food was amazing, and the inside was super clean and nice. Now that it's The ChickenSpot.... the inside is dirty and disgusting, no one mops. At all. EVER.,. and it takes awhile to get your food once you order. The food is okay. The guy working the counter was nice.. so there's that. Gave it 3 stars because the food is edible if you're hungry.

UPDATE: Okay, I decided to try this place one more time... the inside is still uggo, and it takes forever to get your food once you order,.. make sure you order online and go pick it up. That seems to be fastest. The chicken tasted better this time too. A touch of seasoning or something. The main pro about this visit: The girl working the counter was just the nicest sweetest person ever. She was all by herself and still managed to do everything with a beautiful smile. So whoever was at the counter on 04/21 around 11:30am to noonish, she deserves a raise. I wish I'd noticed her name so I could sing her praises more. (THANK YOU COUNTER GIRL!) Definitely made this visit less awful than last time. Will I come here again? Okay... probably. But I'll definitely order online and go pick it up.

The owner was there and was super nice and friendly to us. We were the only ones in there after a dinner rush so it was nice and quiet. They do play music and it's non offensive adds to the atmosphere. The food was fresh and hot. The chicken in the burger was just out of the fryer fresh and it was juicy tender white meat. There was no hard fatty bits in the meat like some other places I have tried. The fires are crinkle cut and nice and salty but no to salty. The owners SPECIAL made SAUCE is BOMB. COM. Its like canes sauce but his own recipe sauce and its perfect on the burger or on top of the mac fries🤤 The restaurant sitting area was a little cold so just bring a sweater. There is refills but you have to ask for them up at the counter. There is a restroom but it's outside the building next to the ordering window. The Mac, fries and chicken bowl was super good and filling. Can easily be shared between two people for just under 10 bucks!!🌟 The milkshakes and cheescake hit the sweet tooth perfectly. We ordered $80 worth of food, got home and were missing some. They said they were out of “mashed potatoes and Mac & cheese.” We ordered Mac and cheese bites as a consolation (didn’t get them). While we waited I watched another cashier gleefully sell those items and when I asked she said “oh yeah I guess we have more now”. About 3mins had elapsed so I highly doubt they were ever really out. Also, we asked what came on the chicken/waffle sandwich and were told “just chicken and syrup, no sauce or anything else” we ordered 3 & asked for that on the side. (As well as few finger baskets for the kids). We got sandwiches covered in pickles (and some terrible sauce that doesn’t belong on waffles); that we are allergic to. That’s why we asked. We can’t eat pickles or a “mystery sauce” due to allergies. Definitely be careful, and check your food at this place. One star because all I could eat was the cold...
