Chubby's Diner — Restaurant in Visalia

I would rate this zero if I could. The burger was the worst burger I've ever had. I'd rather have food from the school cafeteria. First of all the bun didn't even rise all the way it looked as it a car had run over the buns, and on top of that the bun didn't have any good taste to it. Like just add some salt. The burger also didn't have any taste and the cheese was shriveled up and also didn't have any flavor probably due to the bacon. That bacon was the worst I've ever had in my life. Usually on a bacon cheeseburger you want your bacon to be crispy or at least somewhat crispy but it was just the opposite. It was so chewy that some of the bacon tasted raw as if the bacon wasn't even cooked and the stench was rancid. It was so horrible that I had to run to the bathroom and spit it all out and I felt as it I was going to puke. Even starving kids in Africa would reject this food. As the talented Anthony Bourdain explains to us, "Bad food is made without pride, by cooks who have no pride, and no love. Bad food is made by chefs who are indifferent, or who are trying to be everything to everybody, who are trying to please everyone. I've been into Chubby's twice with friends. The first time one of the friends suggested it as we were visiting another business in the area. The second time we went back because the food was so good.

This is a 50s diner style place at the edge of a shopping area among many such areas in Tulare/Visalia. There is plenty of parking nearby as the lot for the collection of stores is large. The interior is smalish, but for late lunch There wasn't a problem getting seated. There is a variety of selections on the menu, but burgers and sandwiches dominate.

On both visits everybody in the party ordered burgers. They were uniformly good. Fresh buns, freshly made and brought in for the restaurant. The fries that come standard with the burgers were crisp and flavorful without added coatings or salt. One person ordered onion rings. Those, too, we're cooler properly and we'll worth the small extra charge. Flexibility: one person can't have cheese, one wants both grilled and raw onion, one wants wheat bread in place of a bun. All special orders were accurately filled with a smile.

The problem happened at Chubby's on Gettysburg and First on December 22, 2023, in Fresno, Ca. I was not feeling well that day, so my husband went to Chubby's to get me some noodle soup. Later in the evening, I decided to eat the soup my husband purchased at Chubbie's. I warmed the soup and took a spoonful of the soup. Then when I put my spoon back into the soup, I felt something solid and lifted it with my spoon and turned out to be a large piece of light bulb. The next day in the morning I showed my husband.
