I have waited until we had sampled this place at least four different times on different days and different times before completing this review.
Kaen Na Ramen & Sushi in Visalia is a hidden gem that delivers big on flavor and service! Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious, but a few standouts made the experience unforgettable. The Spicy Salmon Roll had just the right kick, balanced perfectly with fresh, buttery salmon. The Fried Sexy Jalapeño Roll was a flavor explosion--crispy, creamy, spicy, and totally addictive. We also loved the Spicy Garlic Edamame--the perfect starter to wake up the taste buds.
The Poke Salad was fresh, light, and beautifully presented, and both the Tonkatsu Ramen and the Black Clover Ramen were rich, comforting, and deeply flavorful. You can tell the broth is made with care and passion.
Speaking of passion, Johnny the sushi chef is an absolute delight. He's not only incredibly skilled but also super personable and fun to watch. He welcomes questions and clearly enjoys connecting with customers, which adds a special touch to the whole dining experience.
Service here is consistently excellent--attentive, friendly, and prompt. The only downside is that the restaurant is on the smaller side, with limited seating. But honestly, that just adds to its charm and cozy ambiance. It feels like you've stumbled into a well-kept secret.
Highly recommend Kaen Na if you're in the area--you won't be...
Read moreI got the spicy tofu teriyaki bowl and a vegetable roll togo, I asked the waitress if the bowl had veggies and she said yes broccoli and carrots. I get the food and get in the car, and I went to open the bag to check my order, and when I picked up the teriyaki bowl, the lid wasn't attahced so it dropped and spilled all over my shirt. I shoveled it back into the bowl best I could and drove home, I get home and go to eat the sushi and none of it was cut all the way through and it was rolled so loosely that everything fell apart, it was also extremely bland and was really not good without the help of soy sauce. Not to mention the "vegetables" she told me were in the bowl consisted of literally two tiny slices of carrot and two tiny stalks of broccoli. The teriyaki bowl was about 50 cents worth of food and they charged me $12 for it. I was excited about this place because it had good reviews but that was one of the worst takeout experiences I've had in a long time, maybe they were just having an off night, but yeah that was pretty disappointing, the food had no heart whatsoever, just thrown together and overpriced.
Also not a vegetarian friendly restaurant unless you want to only have two entrees to...
