I will have to say go and enjoy this place! The owner is very charmastic and driven to make sure she takes care of her customers! Being able to be caring and pay attention to each individual customer is such an important tool to have a thriving business and she does just that! The gumbo is amazing and the crab cake definitely melts in your mouth with bursts of flavor through out the crab cake and the sauce! I highly recommend the gumbo! Gumbo taste like it came from a can. I think the version of gumbo from your local grocery store that comes in a can actually tastes better. The crab cake side sauce tastes like white gravy. Overall a very disappointing experience despite reading all the reviews. If they worked on making a darker rue, using fresh ingredients, and completely reworking the dip that they serve with the crab cakes, I would bump this up to three or four stars. My husband and I absolutely loved what we ordered at Armstrong's Bayou Cafe. He tried the fish basket. The fish smelled so good, and he loved the taste and the fact that it wasn't too greasy. I ordered the Loaded Blackened Chicken, and let me tell you, it was delicious! Ya'll have to try it! I'm looking forward to trying more things from their menu soon.
